Harold Baines belongs in the hall of very good and I'm a Sox fan

So does Jack Morris and others they have let into HOF

So I say good for Harold to get in HOF that standards have dropped on other candidates

Also that same HOF refused to put Billy Pierce in so screw em and whatever standards they claim to have. Pierce should be in HOF

Not to mention Fox didn't get honor for 27 years and well after he had died (He should have been 1st ballot HOF instead he didn't get in until 1998)

Amazing that Jim Boylen already lost the team. I get hard practices ... but you can't schedule 3 two hour hard practices AND 3 actual games in 6 days.

And Boylen can't decide to hold out the starters against the Celtics so they can practice the next day. Someone tell Boylen that this isn't college. I want this team to be in better shape and play far better defense ... but you can't embarrass professionals publicly.

I don't know if Boylen recovers from this. Lavine was diplomatic, but rather displeased. Sadly, he was the least of our problems against the Celtics. The benching in the 1H was deserved. The benching 3 minutes into the 2H was done to purposely embarrass his players. Paxson should be looking for a new coach in 2019.

i really suspect that the main problem, at this time, is trying to gain control of the team. if this was the off season, then there would be time to trade them. now with the starting of the season, games already played and a HC fired, the new HC needs to send a message. he needs to grab the bull by the horn, no pun intended. there is no superstar on the team like MJ, Lebron James etc.... where the team needs to make them happy.

Baines is now the worst hall of famer. Guy had 1 year with a WAR over 3.

Mark Grace has a similar profile to Baines (45.5 WAR vs 38 WAR, 120 wRC+ to 119 for Baines). When does he get on the ballot?

Bulls talk - more talk on Sun team meeting.....

Latest Details On Bulls' Sunday Meetings

“They’re learning how I operate,” Boylen said, per Mayberry. “They’re learning what I value. And if I think a group out there isn’t doing what they need to be doing as a collective unit, I’m going to sub. Maybe I’ll sub three. Maybe I’ll sub five. What they have to understand is there are obligations and options. And we’re cleaning up what goes on. You’re obligated to do the things I ask them to do. And they’re obligated to play the right way. And when they’re not, my job is to try to fix that.”

I'm all for accountability that this Bulls team needs. They need to be coached harder. However, they are professionals. This isn't college. You can't embarrass professionals publicly. Phil Jackson was a master of managing personalities. That's a huge part of being a NBA coach.

Boylen's learning on the job. However, he needs to tone down his public behavior. Furthermore, he can't say I benched the players so they can practice the next day.

I think the Bulls need tough love. However, he needs to reward players when they do well too ... like they did against OKC. Furthermore, the Bulls aren't signing any star UFAs if a coach treats his players like college.

This is sort of the behavior that was his downfall at Utah. His teams played hard ... but they all transferred at the end of his tenure. The team couldn't stand him.

with this bold, i am in total agreement. the problem is, he could do it in a subtle way or as some could say, cut the umbilical cord. i say do it on one swift stroke. as you mention, the players are pro's but the coach has the final word. it appears to me that the players were trying to rule the roost.

Just to be clear on the #Bulls situation and reiterate: Practices after a back to back are uncommon. They are not unheard of. Especially when you have a new coach, your record is terrible, and you lost at home by 56. Additionally, none of the starters played more than 20 min..

or put forth any sort of effort that could be characterized as playing a real NBA game. The Bulls’ young players had a text thread trying to NOT EVEN.. show up to the facility. They apparently barely got convinced by vets just to show up and held a players-only meeting. When..

they let coaches in, they found out from the Coach that the plan all along was to watch film and get light shots up, which would’ve maybe taken an hour and let them get out of their quickly and go home and watch football. Say whatever you want about the Bulls’ front office or..

organization but please do not pin this on Boylen or anyone but clueless young players. In a normal 8-9 day span, players typically get one off day. The only ‘unusual’ thing that happened is they lost what should’ve been an off day today by putting forth a complete last night..

That off day will certainly be given soon instead, and was basically going to be today besides showing up for an hour to mostly watch film. Show up and be professional. Simple game.

Also, the front office being in a team meeting is odd. Really odd. Usually there’s a sacred “separation” between the two. Not surprising also that Markannen helped defuse chaos. Intelligent young star is their best player. #Bulls @bulls_jay @Bulls_Peck @NBCSBulls @MarkSchanowski

This **** is getting funnier and funnier.

This is the reason to fire John Paxson.

Jim Boylen is a trainwreck and the players are not helping. Zach deserves all the criticism on defense. However, I never heard anyone question his work ethic. Supposedly, he works hard in the off season. To be honest, he's tranformed himself into a decent player because of it.

I can understand why Zach is offended when Boylen continues to attack a player's heart publicly. You do that in private. I can't imagine the other players being happy either.

This should be the last straw. John Paxson and Jim Boylen need to go and start all over. Players talk around the NBA. No one is going to play for this franchise. It's obvious the players feel John Paxson is selling them out to the media. The trust is broken. You can't run an organization like this.

This reminds me of the revolt between Trestman and the players. Ownership needs to get this under control. Paxson needs to go.

Mark Schanowski is a mouth piece for management. Practice after back to back games is unusual ... but not out of question. However, what he fails to tells you:

1. The Bulls had back to back hard 3+ hour practices after Hoiberg was fired.
2. The Bulls just lost a tough Pacers' game afterwards.
3. The Bulls had another 3+ hour practice after the Pacers game.
4. The Bulls went back to back against OKC and Celtics.
5. Boylen schedules another hard practice after the back to back.

That's 4 three plus hour practices and 3 games in 7 days.

Even then, the players would have done it IF Boylen wasn't trying to embarrass them through the media. I think that's what bothered them the most. Furthermore, the fact MGMT. was asked to be in the player's only meeting ... they think MGMT is telling Boylen to do this. There's no trust.

Finally, Boylen can't be saying this kind of poop to the media. This would infuriate me too:

"Jim Boylen didn't play his starters in the final 21 minutes because he believed that practice tomorrow would be more beneficial than having them play in the second half of a game they weren't going to win tonight."

This is the last straw for me. JOHN PAXSON should be FIRED. Boylen and Foreman should leave the organization too. And if Lavine needs to be traded, so be it.

Sounds like a bunch of spoiled, privileged, crybaby millionaires to me. Basketball is your job. When you suck at your job, you typically have to put in more time. You just set a franchise record for margin of defeat because you mailed it in, and you're going to bitch and moan because your coach scheduled a practice the next day? Cry me a river. Don't want to have to work your ass off at practice? Work hard in the games. You get paid a lot of money to play a stupid game. The least you could do is put forth the effort.

Oof, this Bulls team is going to be bad for a long time if they don't luck into Zion.

The players weren't crying about practice as much as Boylen was degrading them to the media. Boylen was a major part of that reason the Bulls lost by 56 points at home. He benched the starter for most of the game.

The players have to be better, but Boylen can't embarrass them every chance he gets through the media. Imagine if your boss continually embarrassed you to the clients. He has to have more tact.

I'll give Boylen some credit. The Bulls are trying harder on defense. Now they can't shoot and turn the ball over every other time.

The only player who can get them out of this tail spin is Dunn. He needs to create and protect the ball. He's the only competent PG we have. That said, it's a tall order.

Lord... when the ****ing Kings of all teams are laughing at you, just throw in the towel.

That's why I believe Paxson needs to be fired along with Boylen. They lost all credibility.

Now Woj said other executives are saying Boylen can't continue this strategy with the players.

Let's forget signing any decent UFAs next year. Paxson and the current staff need to go. And I was 50/50 on Pax before this weekend.
