Do they have an ETA when you may be back on the grid?

The devastation in Western NC, Eastern TN and other areas of the southwest is terrible. It will take weeks to get a handle on the potential death toll with some communities having no roads remaining to get to or from their location.

We have no eta but having been out walking and two short car rides has revealed slow progress northward toward my neighborhood.

Well shit, life has gotten straight up weird. My building owner has me doing renovations even tho I’m not the superintendent.

And then in the romance department, I’m hooking up with a new lady who has liked me for awhile, but it’s terrible timing. She has a bf, but not happy with the guy, but is scared of what might happen with us. Because I’m not someone that would kick the shit out of her, so it scares her.

Western SC, western NC, and eastern Tennessee got rocked. The Broad River is the basic divide line. East is relatively ok. West is a mess.

We’re without power but backup generator has the refrigerator powered, and water is not effected. We have a natural gas grill, and can pull in toasters and our air fryer.

With what I do, we were ready. Lots of gas and a generator. Lots were not prepared, and in some places it doesn’t matter anyway.

Thanks. We’re good. Crisis management and emergencies are kind of my thing, so my family is over-prepared in some ways. I worry about folks around us outside of our neighborhood.

Update: power is back, we’re good

Ah, I get it.

Even if they can get passed THAT part of why he's not in the HOF....there is this gem

Incredible baseball player

Absolute trashcan of a human being.
There is probably a bunch of other stuff that Rose didn't want getting out and that was why he signed the deal for the lifetime ban.

People that take deals like that do so for a reason.

Well, a 21 year old thought I was 25, so that was flattering. She still seemed interested after I told her I was 36, but the age gap was too much for my blood. Cool girl, though. Smart, cute, nerdy, and not sloppy drunk.

Ended up going to an after party with a 38 year old. A whole bunch of gay dudes were there. Many trying to 'convert' me, which was trippy. Cocaine came out, and they partied hardy. I dont touch that stuff. It was quite the bender regardless. Unfortunately, the 38 year old goes a bit too hard for me. She also had a ton of trauma, which probably explained the heavy drug use.

Fun weekend. Im starting to dabble my toes in the single life again. Still miss the wifey at times. The little guy is adjusting pretty well, atleast.

Sometimes hanging out with gay guys can be fun. I used to live with three of them back when my daughter was conceived, and the women they’d bring around to party were way out of my league. But because I was the only straight and/or single guy there, I’d have multiple options.

Now I’ve just become the fun old guy who outdrinks everyone else (they really need to stop trying to compete with a professional drinker).

They were a bit much at times. I was getting ready to leave, and one of them kept asking me to cuddle on the couch with him. Being gay would be awesome, though, no shortage of ass available, haha.

I feel bad for the woman, though. She opened up her soul to me because she was wired and I am a pretty empathetic person, so she felt comfortable talking to me. I'm afraid she wants more than Im willing to give.

I really don't want to play with her emotions. I think she's looking for anyone who's decent that won't judge her and just show her love. I won't judge, but my heart is far away from being able to love a woman again. Too much healing left to do, and I have some work to do on myself.

The best you can do is be a friend. Becoming single lets you expand your friend circle that you may never have experienced before. Due to couple generally tend to stick to hanging out with other couples and/or work friends.

Just this summer I put myself out there and started talking to people, and I’ve added around like 30 people to my social circle. They vary in ages from 19-63, but when we all hang out it doesn’t matter. There’s no problems at all, because everyone treats each other as an equal, no matter their stage in life. Some of them have kids and even those get excited to see these people (and consequently decide I’ve changed my name to Jungle Gym 😂).
