Java and C++ are very similar

But I don't really have any interest in learning it on my own time. When I take a Java class in school, then I'll definitely be interested in learning it.

I learned the basics of PHP on my own when I was about 13 or 14 and God only knows how much time I wasted on that. It was fun, but that's not what I should've been doing then.

NHL.com headline from last night's game is "Power Rangers"...

Is anyone familiar with transportation options in Long Island? I'm dropping my car off in Plainview to get some work done and there's 2 NYSC's close by in Hicksville and Syosset, so I plan on working out during that time. Are cabs the only option?

Bob Richards, I don't know what the appropriate thread to go OT on and tell you that that new avatar of yours is freaking me out. You go from a cute (albeit young) chick to some dork? lol

Professor emailed me back! haha
Thanks for your email, Tomas. I may or may not post this on FB. It's great -- funny, well-written, and (hopefully) honest.

You dare mock Hans Landa?! That's not a bingo.

Do you guys think this is a good e-mail that I sent to the admissions counselor I spoke with at Minnesota? He's surprisingly a Rangers and Mets fan (the end of the e-mail)

Hey Casey,

It's Jamy Baron, I spoke with you on Friday, and I just wanted to thank you for taking the time to not only hear me out, but to provide me with information I might otherwise would not have known about the University. After speaking with you, taking a tour of the campus, and driving around the twin cities, I was convinced that Minnesota is the place I want to be for the next four years of my life, if not more. I also attended the hockey game against Denver on Friday night and I must say, it felt like I was at an NHL game; I've never seen such school spirit and I want to be a part of it. Sitting on the airplane waiting to take off back to New York, I couldn't help but keep thinking about how I didn't want to leave. I can only hope that I will be admitted off of the wait-list, but if not, I'll understand. I look forward to being a Golden Gopher in the Fall.

Thanks again for everything,
Jamy Baron

PS: Let's go Rangers and Mets!
