I could use some more rock music. I really want to try to experiment more with the Punk and Metal genre.

if you want metal suggestions, I'm a huge metal head. how open are you to testing new music? some vocalists have an adjustment period.

Dating girls who aren't smart end with me kicking someone in the head. I like not being in prison for assault, so it's best if I just don't do it.

Always open to suggestions. I'm very open to testing the waters. I'm already a fan of unclean vocals so I won't be deterred.

I always welcome some punk rock in my music collection for this reason. Especially since my favorite metal sub genres are Groove, Thrash and Metalcore.

EDIT- Anybody up for IRC?

I'm down. I'll be on in a sec.

What have you listened to so far? The only reason I don't consider myself a metalhead is because I like so much other stuff. It was basically the music I was into when I got into music.

The closest thing I have in terms of a solid collection of songs from a band would be Alice in Chains and System of a Down if you even want to consider them metal.

I have bits and pieces of things like Metallica, Megadeth, Motorhead, etc.

Nirvana's earlier work sounds pretty metal to me at least.

Rage Against the Machine is one of my favorites.

I've always liked Punk more and I have more to work with at the start. Already a big fan of Popish stuff like Green Day, Rise Against and The Flatliners and more traditional like Minor Threat, Bad Religion, NOFX, and once again Nirvana takes a bunch of plays from Punk.

First thing you need to know. Heavy guitars =/= heavy metal. Nirvana has never been anywhere close.

If you like Metallica and Megadeth, check out some Testament. The First Strike Still Deadly rerecordings would be my number 1 recommendation.

Then check out some In Flames. Anything from the Clayman album or earlier.

Let me know what you think of those.

Punk is all about Social Distortion. Although, I'm extremely partial to both the 2nd and 3rd Offspring albums (Ignition and Smash).

Alright, I'm going to finish up this Minor Threat demo, then I have a lot of listening to do. This is good.
