Are you Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law?

harvey_birdman_wii.jpg

Charlie Kelly. Bird Law LLP. King of the rats.

He doesn't have any facial scars.

I think you're following the red herring, my friend.

I think the facial scars are the red herring. I find it very unlikely that they haven't introduced the killer yet.

No one we've met has them.

Coincidental how that guy died in the prison cell after Rust told Marty that he was chirping him about the murderer still being out there?

I think the closest guy is the lawnmower man. He had the facial scars and could have dyed his hair. He also sort of resembles the drawing.

At the minimum, I'd bet that the lawnmower man is connected somehow. He was tending that school for a while.

You definitely opened my eyes to him. He wasn't even a thought. But I'm wondering if it's him.. how did he escape Rust for 10 years? Lawnmower man outsmarted him? Not even the governor escaped Rust (if we assume he had something to do with him... Find that a little unlikely.

Are they changing the rules? Everyone is typing anarchy or democracy. loal

Yeah the guy running it did a thing where you can vote for democracy or anarchy mode. Anarchy mode is normal, but democracy mode tallies button presses as votes, and the most presses in a set amount of time is the button that is actually pressed.

I think it ruins the experiment.

I don't think that he was able to get him into his head when Hart was beeping the horn and pressuring him to hurry up. We JUST saw Rust go back to the school the last episode, so I'd imagine that he'd be reintroduced next episode or two if he has something to do with it.

Keep in mind that lawnmower guy is the first guy that Rust hasn't had an opportunity to get a good read on. He knows nothing about him, too.

There was no reason to introduce him as a speaking role character if he isn't going to be involved somehow (or at least back on the show).

Ah we shall see, we shall see. Excited to find out either way.

I do think that both of our predictions seem rather main stream. From what i've heard about the play "The King in Yellow" and the direction this show seems to be going in... I think we should both be expecting an ending eerily similar to "Se7en" rather than a regular detective story.

If that's the case... maybe the murdered hasn't even been introduced yet, and the shock lies in what happens at the end.

I keep coming back to the lawnmower guy. Seems extremely suspicious that someone would be mowing the lawn of a supposedly abandoned property...

I think Reverend Tuttle, Preacher Theriot (played wonderfully by Shea Whigham), and the lawnmower guy are all involved in the cult responsible for the ritualistic murders popping up in Louisiana. I think Governor Tuttle is aware, and because of his cousin's involvement, is spearheading the coverup.

I'm trying to tie Hart's daughter into this somehow. In 1995, she arranged her dolls into a gang-**** scene, drew pictures of sexual nature in school, and also drew a spiral artwork hanging in Hart's kitchen similar to tattoo we've seen again and again. In 2002, she's all Hot Topic'd out and "captain of the varsity **** team". Something happened to her around 1995. She's seen things. I think the link is Hart's father-in-law. Hart said to the 2012 investigators that the "answer was right under his nose" and that if he was guilty of anything he was guilty of "inattention". Something happened to Hart's daughter and that supplies Hart's motive to support Cohle's deep undercover investigation from 2002-2010 and helps explain why Hart hasn't thrown Cohle under the bus to the 2012 investigators despite every opportunity to.

Btw, "Reginald Ledoux" could be liberally translated into "The King's Second".

Exactly! You just made me feel so much less insane with my theory about her. Last episode when he says "everyone is guilty" it immediately cuts to her and slow-zooms. Woody says his biggest mistake as a father was inattention. I think them showing the events in 2002 (her promiscuity) is the start of her getting into deeper ****.

Great thoughts there, man.

Now the father... completely out of left field. I think I'd be much more satisfied with an ending like this than lawnmower man.

But again, this leads to... who's the master mind?

Certainly not the reverend who can be identified clearly by many.
I don't believe the lawnmower man can outfox Rust.
Tuttle can also be identified by many - he'd just have to be part of it.

The father being part of it is certainly interesting but then why doesn't his daughter, Marty's wife, turn out worse? She seems like a model wife.

And where does RL tie into all of this with the father or Tuttle? He's off the grid.

Maybe it has to do something with this guy "Miles" they keep alluding to. The King's Second... second to what? Miles seems logical.

Also, when he saw his daughter taking the clothes off the dolls... they were talking about Rust... so.. maybe there's a bunch we just haven't thought of yet.

Speaking of the father, I could see that being what finally drove Hart from his wife. We all presume it has something to do with Rust. Perhaps Rust found out the father's ties to the murders.

I'm really excited about what they will do with season 2 and a new cast.

oh so the cast changes every season?

You guys with the spoilers, also.... I tried not to read them cuz I haven't seen Sundays episode yet.

I think the Marty begins to resent his daughter. That resentment rather than proactively trying to help her will cause a fundamental rift between him and his wife, leading her to permanently leave him. She was shocked when she saw him Sharkeisha punch his daughter.

The father in law is an interesting theory. Very interesting. But I see no way he can be the actual guy.

The murderer is not going to be an easy find. Cohle goes off the grid for 8 years. The murderer is still out there 10 years after 2002.

Cohle hasn't solved it yet. Usually when that happens the answer is as Marty says, right in front of our eyes. Who is close to Cohle? Marty.

It's not Marty. That would be a God-awful ending. There's no way it's him.

I would agree, just things I'm starting to look for with him. A lot of things that don't add up with his character.

I wonder if we ever meet Miles. He's really being talked up.

That's the idea. A new cast every season.

yeah I get it, just didn't know they were doing that, although I had thought about it ie: the Killing gets a new case every year now. \

anthologies are fun, and with HBO, the casts should be sick.

Matty M carrying this season.

Three episodes left and Cohle has walked out on the 2012 investigators. Is Hart alone going to narrate from 2002 to 2012? Are they going to manage to keep Cohle talking? (maybe they don't let him drive home after the sixer of Lonestar). Or is the story going to quickly transition to 2012?

Can't stop thinking about the show. This very rarely happens to me.

It's just a very well made show. I'm heavy into the visual aspects of TV/movies, but I think this show has top notch cinematography. Also, the subtle, atmospheric music fits it perfectly, then every episode they hit you with one or two neo-psychedelic/industrial songs. Love it.

True Detective had me before it even started by using The Black Angels in the previews.

For once, I have actually found a fantastic restaurant here in Abingdon. Butternut squash soup and smoked ahi tuna with a sundried tomato vinaigrette. Random as hell. I know.
