Don't see how it's possible to hate Pearl Jam but love Nirvana. I love both, but Pearl Jam really does blow them out of the water.

They sound totally different. To me at least. Nirvana was also heavily influenced by many of my favorite bands. Honestly, Nirvana and Hole were the only bands I really liked from that time and place. Can't stand Eddie Vedder's voice, and I'm not gonna enjoy a band if I don't like their singer, additionally if the music doesn't do anything for me. I can totally see why people like Pearl Jam, they just never did it for me. People always say that Nirvana have become overrated because of Kurt's suicide, which is true to an extent, but they put out some incredible albums.

Any product managers or marketing people in here? Trying to figure out user segmentation/personas for a product.

Got some questions if you're out there, please PM me

Agrees all around. Melanie Laurent (Shoshana) was lovely in IB.

Pulp Fiction
Reservoir Dogs
Inglourious Basterds
Kill Bill 1 & 2
Jackie Brown

Jackie Brown, IMO, is better than the Kill Bill's as films.

As a cinematic experience? KB might have JB beat. However, besides the fact that it oozes style, Kill Bill really doesn't have much.

That's a good point. They're interchangeable to me.

I thought Django was a really forgettable movie.

Also, I saw American Hustle and Dallas Buyer's Club today.

I was HUGELY disappointed with Jennifer Lawrence's performance after hearing the mountains of hype unloaded on her. She was good, and she's a very talented actress, but no way does she deserve an Oscar for her performance. I thought Amy Adams was far and away the best performer in the movie.

The movie itself was alright, but as David O. Russel does the movie unhinged a little more than halfway through and never came back.

DBC was great. McConaughey and Leto deserve the awards they're gonna win for their performances.

However, the best movie i've seen this year is BY FAR Spike Jonze's Her, and i'm so disappointed with the lack of love it got. In my opinion it should be a lock for Best Original Screenplay, and I thought Joaquin Phoenix was better than Christian Bale, and maybe even just as good as Leo in WoWS, both guys nominated for best actor. It's not really getting much buzz for anything and that really upsets me.

Totally agree. My other favorites of '13 were Upstream Color and 12 Years a Slave. Of course people are gonna be nuts over WoWS, it's Leo and Jonah Hill doing drugs for 3 hours. But that movie had no depth or any emotional or intellectual impact for me. I saw Her a week ago and I'm still thinking about the ideas it explored. WoWS didn't explore anything, it was pure entertainment.

Upstream Color was fab. Great soundtrack.
