Just thought I'd put this up for a wider audience in case anybody can help out...

I come here today for a cause that I hold close to my heart. Some of you may have heard of the story of Matthew Schreindorfer on you facebook page or on the news in the last 24hrs. For those who haven't, Matthew was recently diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) at the age of 24. The news came at the tail end of a summer which should have been nothing but joy. He was celebrating his graduation from university, his marriage to his high school sweetheart Katia but, the diagnosis came only days after his return from his honeymoon. Despite the best efforts from the medical departments in Montreal, all his treatments have shown no results. The doctors have advised him that his last chance at life is for him to be admitted for the CART-19 clinical trial, which is only offered in the USA but has been found to have a 90% success rate. However, the cost of such a treatment is between 600,000 and 800,000$.

The family has turned to crowd funding in order to raise the funds and the response has been amazing with over 100,000$ being raised in just over 24hrs. Due to the short time frame, we need help from anybody who is willing. Any donations no matter how big or small are greatly appreciated. The link below will bring you to the official page where you can read his storey and donate.

Also I should add that Matt is a big Habs fan. Let's make sure he has a chance to see the Habs win that 25th Stanley cup! :handclap:

Thanks everyone :)

Thanks for the support guys. I met Matt in university and he was a great friend. I've been trying to share his story everywhere I can. I definitely understand that not everyone has the means to donate but simply sharing the link in your community/facebook page has an incredible effect.

Happy to say I donated a little earlier. The way I see it: I give up a few beers to help save a good man's life. Easy choice.

I was so surprised to see this on the mainboard.
This story really deserves to be read. If you look at the donations a lot of them are 5/10/20 dollars. Those small donations really add up.

Well he's Canadian and his only option is some experimental treatment in the US. And there's no cure for the rich when it comes to Cancer either, some are treatable and some aren't.
