Man the fanbase, players and management and even the league are all getting screwed because of a greedy ill advised owner.

Honestly this is somewhat Donald Sterling's fault lol o_O

Yeah, you can tell that if you look at the picture closely--the tarp is visible under the last couple rows of benches.

However compare that to this.....

i really wish the nfl had 2 la teams, a san diego team and a st.louis team, instead of jacksonville and new orleans
The saints are consistently in the top 10 in attendance in the NFL, and Nola is a great place for big events like the super bowl.

I am really curious on how Chargers PSL sale will be for the Rams’ new stadium.

Let’s face it. The new stadium will be Rams property and Chargers mere tenants.

If the Chargers moved back to San Diego would anyone know? Even the Rams seem to just average attendance at best. But it's TV money and all the other revenues that make the NFL a cash cow. Maybe the actual location of team and their stadium isn't that financially important.

Chargers should go to St Louis. There's no interest in LA and they burned the San Diego bridge when the left.

If the owners have ANY brains whatsoever, the Chargers won't get to the point of playing in that stadium. The Clippers were bad enough, but this is a next-level terrible idea.

OT to the OT: That they abbreviate the Chargers as 'LAC' makes me wonder why the Clippers are playing football now...

True enough maybe Balmer has another 2 billion lying around. He's planning a new arena for the Clippers near the Inglewood Stadium anyways so it may be a nice fit...increase the franchise value even more and boot Mr. Spanos out of the picture.

I'm sure if the Chargers were to announce they move back to SD, the town would embrace the Chargers again. 55 years is a long time.

They would absolutely love to have the Chargers back. It's the Spanos family they would run out of town.

My fault Connell in not being clearer in what I wrote. Yes, the folks in San Diego would welcome back the Chargers. It's the move to LA and the lack of interest in the Chargers (and maybe even the Rams) that my comment was pointed too. I know it means a lot to a city when they lose franchise and hurts even more when the team isn't enthusiastically welcomed in the new city.
By the way, I was AFL fan of the early 60s. Remember John Hadl and those great high scoring games of the that old AFL provided.

Rams had a rather empty stadium tonight. A good chunk of the fans were there to cheer on the Seahawks.

Won't matter one bit in the big picture for the Rams. Once Kroenke has the new stadium built they're a golden money maker for him.

The problem with San Diego is that they wouldn't finance a new stadium. Spanos tried for 15 years to get a new stadium. Qualcomm was outdated when I went to a game there in January 1988. If they had agreed to build a new stadium the Chargers would still be there.

Yeah, and a $2.5-3bn+ mortgage to pay on it as well. Ive maintained that Kroenke is more interested in developing the rest of the property than the football stadium, like the football stadium was his foot in the door to develop the rest of the area. It doesnt matter if he loses a bit on the stadium if it allows him to get billions to develop the rest of the entertainment district. He is a real estate guy and knows what he is doing.

It is amazing how the NFL kept talking about going back to LA the right way, and tried to control the process, and then this is the result.

San Diego made no less than 17 attempts to get a new stadium built since the early 90's. Spent millions over a three year period buying up tens of thousands of unsold tickets just so the Chargers could lift a local blackout on a god forsaken disaster of a team.

The last attempt to finance a new stadium via a hotel tax required a 2/3 majority of voters only within the city limits. Not real good odds.
