Sounds like Gervais has been putting Synchuk over huge in the media . They seem to really see some star potential in the kid. It would sure be amazing if they're right.

I hope to the sweet lord gabagool that Synchuk is a grand slam. It would confirm to the board of directors (Joey) that more investment = more potential for greatness.

If the rumoured fee is right, it's our biggest transfer in history and if the player is actually good, he'll only cost 150k on the cap for the next 4 years

Transfermarkt has the transfer at 4.8M euros, so definitely significant, I don't know how good they usually are for transfer value initially but that would be a reasonable estimate.

And if the player is actually good he's probably gone within a year or two, it's if he's bad that we get to keep him for 4 years.

I'm fairly confident they'll try to make a profit, don't see them selling cheap either way.

If anything, I'm surprised he didn't sign in Europe. The only interested I could find very quickly was by Leeds last summer.

He seems like a Piatti type. Inverted winger.

This roster is not too shabby at all, I just don't like the lack of firepower.

It's an opportunity for Vrioni, Clark and Synchuk to seize I guess.
I did think of Piatti, yes. Worse control of the ball but faster, however - you could have played Nacho in a possession style up to a point, as I recall. Synchuk seems run and gun.

Maybe the asking price was too high. It's still quite a bit for someone not playing in a top League in his country. I also wonder if Bologna will buy him up afterwards if his value shoots up

Could be, although I feel like there is a desire to separate the activities a bit - we might be done with "free transfers" to Bologna.

Also, this article makes me chuckle, saying he's going to Canadian Montreal
