If we could explore another Forward, preferably a Center and upgrade our OA Defenseman of D'Amato. We'd be set
Very very good team, just got better. Not only do you have a scary group of forwards, and arguably the best goalie when he's on his game but your D is starting to be damn impressive too.

We should expect similar picks to the Allen deal, leaving your cupboard pretty empty. Do you think they still deal Griffin elsewhere, or another young player?

I think Oshawa definitely wants to move Griffin to upgrade. Lots of talk of him not waiving his NTC. Time will tell.

I totally understand if he wants to stay in a good organization in Oshawa, but he's making quite the mistake if he goes elsewhere. He was set to get premium ice time in his draft year and make a Memorial Cup run in his age 19 season in a premier development program. You can't ask for much more.

man, imagine a first line PP with Martin, Hayes, Griffin, and Chase Reid. ooeuf. that would have been dirty.

When you say “similar,” what do you mean by that? IMO, Brady Smith is worth considerably more than Jenken. He is regarded to have a much higher ceiling.

The GUE/LDN deal involved 2(2-3-4)5. It may be realistic to expect half the number of picks but the 1st round picks typically carry a lot of weight in value.

If I had to guess, having genuinely no knowledge of this picks as of this writing, I would say....

2nd, 3rd, 4th, 4th, 4th, 6th, 7th.

You've said in the past that Gibson has a higher value than Allen as well, which I agree with. I don't know that this line of discussion goes anywhere.

A better way to look at it, perhaps, is what is Owen Griffin worth? One would think that the Gens had to add picks of commensurate value when he was removed from the deal. 2,2,3,4,4 maybe? It's hard to say.

I think that is high.

I would say 2nd, 3rd, 5th, 10th.
That would certainly go down as one of the biggest heists in trade deadline history for Oshawa. We've never seen the top deadline player go for so little. Kudos to hunt if he removes Griffin from the deal and essentially adds nothing in his place.

I think Smith is worth more than Griffin. My personal opinion.

If it were Griffin inthe deal instead of Smith, I could get on board with the Allen deal as a comparable with slightly less pick volume.

With Brady Smith being a respected ‘08, I think expecting the same value or close to Noah Jenken is not realistic. This past draft was deep. Players in that 8-30 range were all pretty highly regarded.

I would not put Smth and Vaughn in the same category but when you look at Romani and OVS basically for Vaughn straight up, I think you have a strong indication of the value of the 1st round pick.

I agree with you on all points. You didn't understand what I said.

It seems relatively clear at this point that Smith and Griffin were both in the deal. I have a piece of information that I'm not going to share given the toxic rumours lately, but I'm confident that this was the case. The question is, what is Griffin worth? What did Oshawa have to add to make the Greyhounds still play ball without Griffin included?

Take out a 2, add a 4,6,7.

That was pretty close. Reasonable, but disappointing after knowing that Griffin and Smith were both included at one point. Credit to Hunt for getting the best player at the deadline at a highly discounted price.

An over pay that might just be worth it.
I wouldnt say overpay. I'd just right pay. Let's wash the 6ths and 7ths. They are depth picks that for the most part churn out nothing.

So traded 5 top value picks for a top D man and and still have a mirrored cupboard to keep shopping
