Oshawa Generals 2024-25 Season Thread, Part 1

Oster has been solid all season but hasn't necessarily had that "ohhhh yeah that's the OHL goalie of the year" game. Well tonight was that. Gens lose Danford and Griffin in the first half of the game, putting them 3 guys down and Oster stole the show in that 2nd period especially.

Early in the season in Kingston he absolutely stole that game with no sennecke, Barlow or Ritchie if my memory stands

Got the scoop on McDonell. He had off-season surgery and is just now in his first full week of practice

Wild. I mean it definitely makes more sense now but weird that the injury was never disclosed until now.

He's practicing with the Gens this week and then making a decision. Seen a couple people say Danford separated shoulder. Torrance just missed 10 days with that. Lukas Fischer (SAR) missed 5 weeks with the same injury. So depends how severe it is

Hopefully it’s a grade 1 and only a couple weeks as opposed to a grade 3 or require surgery and be out 6 months.
Shoulders can be one of the most frustrating injuries if not handled properly.

Losing Ben Danford sucks anytime but losing him right now might suck the worst (besides playoffs) you have 5 games left of Ritchie Beckett and potentially Barlow with Canada and potentially Lauri Sinivuori with Finland and David Svozil with Czechia big test for the boys coming up to prove that the front office doesn’t need to add middle bottom 6 forwards and see if the depth forwards of the team can step up in December and start of January

Yeah Sinivuori might not make Finland roster but I saw a projected roster over at the athletic with their prospect team and they had him as a extra forward so who knows I just put him in the list cause their is a chance never know

Roobroeck had that hot stretch of 6 points in 6 games but since then just 1 point (an assist) in his last 7 games. And 0 fights this season in his 18 games. If he goes another couple weeks without a point or making an impact, wonder if that becomes a possibility again

It baffles my mind. No wonder people don’t want to discuss things on this board. Ya he’s not producing. They have injured players coming back. He could possibly be odd man out. Could he be sent back? Why not? Just as good or better players have been sent back. So yes. It could happen. So do I think he will? Personally no. But I agree it could happen. lol.

And Gens have kept him on their roster all year. Which doesn't mean he will be back but for example KIT didn't keep Sale on theirs because they didn't think he had a decent chance to be back.

Lots of trade rumours involving the new York Rangers regarding a couple of their star players, meaning young players comming back the other way and in turn crowding the farm down in Hartford.. anything is possible in regards to Roobroeck ... let's hope cause that would be a massive upgrade without having to make a trade..
