OT: Optimism in Canada

Of course it's BS. Simply pointing out that it has been months of this rhetoric from the US Republicans, yet to date not a single Canadian politician has addressed & debunked this ridiculous assertion that Canada is responsible for policing the U.S. border.

You are so right. Its like Mexico is going to pay for the wall.

we cannot survive without immigration, Canada has been in population decline for decades.

without significant immigration there won’t be anyone to keep the lights on or grow food let alone pay into our pension funds or run hospitals. even private ones.

look it up.
Big difference between immigration and refugees.
Immigrates come here to work and make a better life.
Refugees come here to live off the taxpayers and then they try to change the way Canadians live.
To tell you the truth I don't even blame the refugees ... wars are started where they live so they are displaced and their lands are stolen.
Sad world we live in all this BS for greed and corrupt politicians.

And now for something completely different ... HOW ABOUT THOSE JETS

He's not asking us to "police the borders" Fentanyl is pouring over into Canada through the ports in Vancouver and then shipped across the US and Canada. Anyone notice the 3 billion dollar fine that TD Bank just paid for money laundering for the Mexican drug cartels. No offence, but you guys should move past getting your news from CBC. We are not winning a trade war with the USA and we ARE to blame for electing leaders that care more about sending money to foreign countries (more money laundering) then looking after their own people. We need someone that cares half as much as Trump cares about Americans.

You can't have half of nothing. If you believe Donald cares about Americans you haven't been paying attention.

Canada did this to themselves.
The years and years or poor leadership by all levels of government regardless of what party has lead us to today.
This country is a disaster. The province and the city of Winnipeg are no better.

Yet sadly I see things getting worse before they get better.

pretending everything is perfect and we shouldn’t have hard conversations is HOW WE GOT HERE

Yes - but this isn't supposed to be the place where we have that conversation. However it is where we are. As long as we don't start attacking each other (that might be getting close) I think it should be allowed. JMO

Too late. The Department of Homeland Security has already opened a file.

Several, I think.
And I'm sure they know who we really are.

Agree, but now is not the time to dwell on the shortcomings. That will accomplish nothing. Now is the time to forge ahead with the experiences of the past and learn that change is require for a better and brighter sovereign future of our country. Standing up to the bully is what is imperative at this time.

Canada may or may not have done something to itself with years of poor leadership - but that has absolutely nothing to do with this issue.

I'm not leaving the Country this year... developing a property just off the Lake...

Putting my money into preparing the land to place a house and shop on it for my lady and I...

Need to wait out this insult of a Federal Government... get 10% off a new build... avoid Capital Gains Tax...

Why would anyone build anything or start a business in this Country right now... ?

Investors have moved their money out of Canada and it's accelerating...

But what would I know... ? Of course the Government will employ you all.... you will own nothing and learn to like it I hear...

Carry on... and...

Go Jets Go !!!

people like you that wanna turn Canada into America should go live in America and make it great on your own goddamn timetable

I am most certainly sure I have more Canada gear than you...

Don't scold me... you couldn't tie my shoes...

You know nothing about me... you don't write my script...

I do...

Your lowercase diaherra doesn't prove anything other than you just want to denigrate...

Optimism in Canada

  • I wasn't so optimistic when Chinese military were training on Canadian soil back in 2020.
  • I'm not particularly optimistic about BlackRock, State Street, Vanguard, and Blackstone buying up everything (including the land of a certain Eastern European country).
  • I'm not optimistic about those in parliament who're connected with the WEF.
  • I'm not optimistic about the idea of owning nothing by 2030, and being happier for it.
  • I'm VERY optimistic that Canada is performing greatly with our ESG score though...
  • I'm not optimistic about Canadian Parliament, since they always seem to just be performing, running out the clock Mon-Fri. That includes all of the Canadian parties that have any power.
  • I'm not optimistic about Big Pharma having so much influence in our media.
  • I'm slightly optimistic that people will wake-up.

Not sure what you mean...

But I keep an open mind... I don't take a dime from my Federal Government... I'm a big taxpayer for many years...

I prefer it that way... as I don't ever want my Daddy to be our Government...

I hate Koolaid... and I hate Cultural Marxists more... and Nihlists much much more...

We also have a lot of sleep walkers in the country... things may not be what they seem...

1 in 4000 they say... 1 in 4000....

Food for thought...

Stephen Punwasi, of all people? The dude seems like the Vidkun Quisling of Canada. Both ran from Government, and failed miserably. The Punwasi dude is so full of ridiculous lies and Trump cheer-leading, that it's actually entertaining to see what drivel he posts next.

It would be a shame if Canada was to cut off the Flow of Gas, Oil, Electricity, Lumber and livestock to the northern United States. Contrary to what the Orange man says, The U.S. does depend on Canada for what they have because our economies are vastly interconnected for a very long time and besides, Don't we have a couple of treaties such as the WTO and USMCA that suppose to protect us against such policies.

Trump invoked an emergency clause about fentanyl I believe otherwise tariffs would have to be approved by Congress. In addition, it is winter time. You are not going to cut people's power off and have them freeze to death.

A type of act like that is a great example of how to escalate this even further than it needs to be.

Just what we all need. More random obscure YouTube videos. Anyone who repeatedly interviews Kevin O'Leary and Danielle Smith, as "experts" on Canada-US relations, does not deserve the time of day.
I had no idea who that sam cooper guy was so I googled him and all I could find was he was fired from global after being sued for baseless reporting

Better than I - I'm now pessimistic about everything

It quite literally has absolutely nothing to do with it. It is not any Canadian Government that is attacking us and it isn't due to the failing of any Canadian Government either. It is the Trump controlled US Government that is attacking us because that assh*** is delusional. Not because of anything we have or have not done.

You are victim blaming. And you are the victim here.
I mean, I get what he is saying. ALL previous Canadian governments of all political stripes have not had any backbone to stand up to the Yanks in a significant manner, which has helped make us a defacto Vassel state.

HOWEVER, this Trump scenario is an extreme example of where a United States government is directly attacking Canada. Yes, I said DIRECTLY (because an attack on our economy is indeed a direct attack), on top of all the annexation bluster about becoming the 51st state. Now is the time for action, not dwelling in the past, which is what I feel he is doing. This is the wake up call Canada and Canadians have needed since 1 July 1867. We need to stop bemoaning the past and pull our heads out of the sand, because the threat is real.

If after this Canadians aren't fired up about protecting our sovereignty from the US, then I may start to believe we simply don't care about our nation and are willing to become taken over by the US. And should that fateful day where Canada surrenders its sovereignty ever occur during my time on this planet, that will also be the day I renounce my citizenship, full stop.

I like how all I said was that I googled who the source you posted was and all I could find that he was fired/sued for baseless reporting and your counter to that was to basically attack me, but yes, I'm the troll....

He is published...

There is more litigation coming from him the other way for just the opposite... possible baseless suit...

Possilbe termination without grounds...

The lack of accountability you are showing towards the government is just sad.
They are 100% at fault for this.
Had they done their job properly. This wouldn’t be happening.
You can disagree and that’s fine. But it’s the truth.

For some reason the Canadian government did not build a coast to coast pipe-line and a heavy crude refinery.
Trump started the tariff war over almost nothing.
I have no problem with cutting the energy in winter. Americans have plenty of energy.
