"Wanna go, Prettyboy?"
Same thing happened with Brendan Lemieux. Highly sought after draft pick until people found out his dad was the wrong Lemieux.
The wrong Lemieux would be Jocelyn or Alain.

If I remember correctly, the only person calling him was Mark Bryson on the radioHis nickname in french is "Le Sniper Beauceron", which I find hilarious

Only correct Lemieux is Mario
Joshua Roy is a prospect, and should probably be discussed on the prospects board, rather than on NHL Talk, which is for legit NHL stuff.
I don't think he's a sure thing at all. He's got legit hockey sense and good hands but that's about it. His skating, size, intensity and work ethic are unremarkable and unless he becomes a beast in the summer, that will prevent him from becoming a legit top 6 NHLer.

That would be super boringI don’t know if it’s ever possible to make scouting into an exact science. Scouting is done by humans, and the players are humans too. It’s very hard to predict how each individual will turn out. So I don’t think it will ever be perfect.
Imagine if every guy drafted 1st overall in every draft has the best career, 2nd overall the 2nd best career, 3rd overall the 3rd best career, etc. That will never happen.
He needs better teammates too. He was fine considering his age and overall pro experience.Joshua Roy is a prospect, and should probably be discussed on the prospects board, rather than on NHL Talk, which is for legit NHL stuff.

He does have upside but this is definitely a key year for him. He was on the right track last season but he definitely needs to be better than that.
I think the work ethic stuff was a true concern when he was a teenager, part of the reason he fell to the 5th round. Since going to Sherbrooke, I think the doubts regarding work ethic and intensity are long gone. That is a slap in the face to one of the best goaltenders of all time, Denis Lemieux.
This is an odd take.
I definitely have some questions about his skating - he's got an odd and inconsistent stride - but I have zero issue whatsoever with this intensity and work ethic.

I believe Joshua Roy is not enough talked, and he should get more attention. This kid has a solid potential and great playmaking.
What are your thoughts about him?
Proud Beauce representHis nickname in french is "Le Sniper Beauceron", which I find hilarious
no
Ryder 3.0.Solid prospect IMO
I think he's a "Tyler Toffoli 2.0"
Not the fastest skater, solid vision and hockey IQ, good shot, great two ways players
He's a top 9 player for sure
So then which current Hab's goalie is closest to Halak?Ryder 3.0.
Oh wtf? Can we undraft him?The problem is that he's actually the son of Derek Roy. People recently found out about this and its why he is no longer talked about.
He think his hockey sense is probably better all around, but that wouldn't be a bad outcome at all.Ryder 3.0.
Every time seeing this I'd think "Dear Hyundai, we spell it Roy".He's destined for a Hyundai endorsement.
We're wayy ahead of ya. Josh Wawa will be a stud.
Good player that leaves you scratching your head how he fell to the 5th round and a little jealous.
