While I agree it's a bit early to give up on Hanifin, you're overrating him and underrating Carrick if you think he's "infinitely" better. He's got an infinitely higher ceiling, but the jury is still out on Hanifin. I don't care where they were drafted, Hanifin's hockey sense is severely lacking at this point in his career and unless he gets a lot smarter, the comparison will be fair.

I don't think you've seen either player play enough if that's what you think.

By the way, how's Semin doing?

[MOD] I watch a lot of hockey. A lot. And I know Carrick wouldn't have been on the wrong side of the play *five* times like Hanifin has been tonight. We'd be winning right now if Carrick started in place of Hanifin. But you just keep believing he's a future Norris candidate, despite *no* evidence of this at the NHL level. The folks who said he peaked at 18 are looking like they knew something, but no, we can't consider that.

And by the way, I only defended Semin in the sense that I thought he was being unfairly scapegoated by Rutherford. Those teams had a ton of issues -- made more clear in retrospect -- but to hear JR talk, Semin was the cancer who killed us. It was bullshit then and it's bullshit now. I railed against his extension at the time it was signed, just like most everyone else.

So I'll take what I can see watching hockey games and leave this board to the [MOD] who can't even consider for a minute that not every Canes prospect is pegged for multiple All-Star games.

I get your point of different opinions, but this is just wrong because same and even less goes for Carrick, he has no NHL experience like at all, so you can`t be so sure about him.
