I understand that they need to get more offense... but how has the pitching been lucky as hell? They've been dominant. That's not luck.
Lucky to have had no impact from injury yet, and I'm counting Scherzer in that, because Easton Lucas has so far sucessfully replaced him thru 2 starts.

The luck will run out at some point.

Depth might be an issue at some point but I doubt they’re alone in the division. It’s part navigating the ebbs and flows through 162 games.

Gausman - Berrios - Bassitt have been 3 of the healthiest pitchers in baseball the last few years

Most of their depth (Manoah, Teidemann, Macko) was already hurt before the season started.

Is it lucky to have pitchers stay healthy, or is it a side effect of primarily building your rotation around guys with long histories of durability? Berrios hasn't missed a start in like 8 years now. Gausman got moved to the pen for a bit in 2019, but otherwise he's made 30+ starts per year for almost a decade. The only time Bassitt has missed in the last 5-6 years is when he got hit in the face by a line drive.

You can't just wave away an injury because they successfully replaced him. If Bo gets hurt and Leo Jimenez comes up and plays really well in his spot, you can't say "Boy, the Jays are super lucky they haven't had any injuries to their position players!" Developing depth players and identifying under-the-radar guys you can bring in as depth to reduce the impact of injuries isn't luck. It's part of good roster building.

It is a tad frustrating to watch Bassitt give us another start and our group just flail against a guy that has not been right since his major injury. Patience is wearing thin.

Other than the lack of power, the bats have been excellent pretty much across the board this year - guys are having a good approach, lots of contract, great OBP.

And again, the cold weather is really killing the power right now. In the 7 road games we've played, the HR are 1-1 for us vs. the opposition and it's also part of the reason the pitching looks disproportionately good right now.

I would say a few guys are having a good approach. There are a handful that look completely lost at best.
