Blue Jays GDT: Opening Day!

I'm not going to let Schneider off the hook for bad managing but it certainly feels like the cold bit the Jays pitching staff hard tonight.

Garcia had a couple ticks off his fastball and control issues, Little couldn't find the zone, Sandlin did a bit better. Not something you can really prepare for given seeing cold weather games like this into April isn't super common.

Bassitt seemed fine but i feel like his softer, more movement based arsenal would play up in those conditions.

Mets did all their offensive damage against our bullpen. They feasted on our relief pitchers but their big guns couldn’t manufacture runs against starting pitcher Bassitt.

Schneider needs to learn that idiom: « if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it » Sometimes letting your pitcher do his thing is the good decision to make. Overmanaging is Galaxy brain stuff.

We need to get on bases more and finally drive in runs. Offensive production has been a serious problem for three straight seasons now.

Let’s Just win tomorrow to avoid the series sweep at least.

Dunno but this was a very simple game to manage. Let Bassitt finish the 7th. Briung Garcia in the 8th and Hoffman in the 9th. I mean that's Baseball 101. It's been done this way since the Flintstones.
Really this is the old school, correct way to do it.

Your starter pitches a gem, get it to your setup guy who then gets it to you closer. Instead, they pull Bassitt after he gives up a hit on not particularly hard contact and starts a fire.

Did anybody get a screenshot when they were 5-2 and in 1st place?

Because that’s going to be the last time you’ll see them there this season.

We all know Schneider is a f***ing moron Still not using common sense when dealing with his pitching. Leave your f***ing starters in if they’re dealing.

Is someone keeping track of the number of base runners left stranded by Kirk this series? Why is he batting 5th? With his roly poly running and his pathetic offence, he’s killing this offence.

It would be nice if we could hit more than 5 home runs to this point.

I honestly think he’s the biggest issue that needs to be addressed right now. He over manages into losses
He thinks he's the brightest bulb in the room when in fact he's the dimmest. I know some of these decisions are organizational, but he has no common sense when it comes to managing his starters and bullpen. He hasn't learned a damn thing in all his years of managing.
