They had no choice Straw was at 2nd which means Heineman had to go 3rd and Clement home. Clement should have been easily safe though. He came back to 2nd before it was 100% sure the ball was caught. He did not have to do that he had plenty of time to come back to 2nd on the throw after being sure the ball was in control of the fielder.

He was safe. That was a BS call in the booth in New York.

I think it’s getting to the point where the review guys don’t want to show up the umps and go against them and overturn any calls they make.

Shaw was standing at 2nd. Both Heineman and Clement were in between the 2nd and 3rd. If Clement stops at 3rd Heineman is out (or Straw not sure about the rule here if Straw stays at 2nd and Clement at 3rd with Heineman in between). The best play was to go for it.

It was a bad run though. He should have stayed in between the 2nd and 3rd until he was 100% sure the ball was caught and if he would have done that he would have been easily safe. But he went back to 2nd before being sure the ball was controlled by the fielder which is a rookie mistake honestly.

I doubt Heineman goes to third if Clement stops like he should have.

Ok, that’s fair. I wasn’t sure where Heineman was.
 
Ross Atkins may have been onto something when he said we have 6 built in wins on our roster if we get this Springer tbh

He stopped before 2nd it looked like and when he saw Ernie blow around 3rd he was waving Heineman to go to 3rd. Either way, Clement is a doofus
