I had the AHL game on mute, so that play was even more confusing out of the corner of my eye. At least in our beer league, the onus is up to the defensive zone center to make sure the goalie is set before lining up in the dot. I'd have to check what the actual rule is supposed to be.

Abbotsford ended up winning a few minutes later. Former Devil great Kaapo Kahkonen gave up a soft goal.

Bobrovsky needs to take a paycut after that weak showing .... jesus
He's always been massively overpaid until very recently when he decided to not suck in the 2023 and 2024 playoffs and only became somewhat overpaid.
With 64 games in his last three seasons, three scf and at least one SC, Bobrovskiy is doing fine for his salary.

Bob has had an interesting career. Starts out in Philly, gets traded to Columbus where he wins a couple of Vezinas, signs the big deal with Florida which looks like one of the worst contracts in the league for a few years, and then goes back to being one of the better goalies in the league in his mid 30's.
Really? To me he's a weak spot on a team that's rock solid 🤔

The obvious things get forgotten, which is that players play better on better teams.

Seth Jones looks like he's in his prime again. Bob needed a certain level of commitment in front of him. If Bennett leaves, he'll never play like this again. You'll see this happen with Ekblad once he's gone, the Panthers will look good for having walked away.

Yes like Roger Clemens accomplished something similar as did Tom Brady and it was so organic how they did that.
