OOT scoreboard 2025 playoff edition

You gotta give credit to Carolina for their consistency. Once again on pace for 0 wins in the conference finals.

No don’t you see it’s obviously brilliant teambuilding to let your 24 year old good bottom 6 C/W with the talent to be plugged higher in a lineup just walk rather than keep them around for league minimum…

It’s really f***ing insane how many people don’t see the flawed thinking and argue it’s either “fine” or “good” that we just let him walk. Some people really will just gargle Fitz nuts over anything if it means taking the opposite side of the “haters”. IIRC there were literally people arguing KURTIS MCDERMID WAS MORE VALUABLE THAN BOQVIST!!!!!

Who says he would've taken league minimum if the Devils don't qualify him? Unlikely he's taking league minimum if they do.

I think it's fine to let him walk. You can't keep everyone, he's a 13th forward as constituted on the Panthers, he was a 13th forward on Boston. He's not a center.

God forbid this board be around in the late 90s, I would've loved to see people complaining about Scott Pellerin, Jaro Modry, and the 15 other ex-Devils who found another place to play.

I'm sure Devils fans would have taken Boqvist's 31 game goalless streak to end the regular season calmly and rationally.

Although it would have been nice to have a Cane killer in the first round.

He's not a Cane Killer.

C'mon now.

He'd be as "effective" with us as anyone else this season.
Sorry, the sarcasm emoji isn't available when I'm on my phone because this site is and always has been trash on mobile. I was mostly being a smartass.

Dude doubled his career playoff point total in one game after not doing anything in the regular season for as long as most of our bottom 6 guys did nothing and now suddenly it's the worst non-signing in Devils history.

I'd still gladly take him over any of Bastian, Lazar, Dowling, MacDermid, Haula, Tatar, etc. though.

okay...you got a point there.

Holy shit I didn’t even notice that. Off topic but what’s the most anyone seen at a devils game?

In the 20s is the highest I can ever think of. Definitely don't even recall anything being in the 30s. There's been some super low ones some nights too even with a good crowd. Don't think I've ever bought a raffle ticket cause I'd never win anyway lol

Proof divisional playoffs suck #10000 this would’ve been a first round matchup 1-8 and we probably end up having leafs or Tampa against panthers conference finals.

I don’t think the leafs would’ve crushed the canes like this but I do think they beat them pretty easy in 5 or 6. That’s gotta sting for their fans

If Lazar, Bastian or Dowling were playing for Florida I think they’d all be useful and doing well. All of them would be at least as good as Nosek in that system.

What I liked about Boqvist was his ability to carry the puck through center ice and make zone entries under control, and his hands and creativity. I consider him a cut above Lazar et al.. But he also had defensive lapses and in one of those first couple of games that the Panthers lost to Toronto he blew some assignments that cost them and led to his being benched in favor of Nosek.

Still I wish we had had Jesper here the last couple of years. His speed and skating would have been quite useful when Jack got hurt. They were skills we missed. He brings something the others on that list don’t.

Really we go from Fitz’s boners to now talking about Fitz’s nuts? We’ve discussed how childish and immature it is to call attention to this.

I keep asking is there really any reason not to try and trade MacD? He doesn't even fight guys when he should. Only engages in prearranged deals. I mean 23 games, 0 points, and a total of 23 PIM. There
must be somebody out there more worthy of that $1,150,000. That's burnt money.
