OOT scoreboard 2025 playoff edition

For the 100th time, THAT team was very fortunate to not lose to the Rags in 5 or less. Akira Schmid played his ass off. Then when he stopped playing out of his mind, the Devs promptly got the piss beat out of them by Carolina in embarrassing fashion. If the Devs lose game 3 2 to 1 in OT despite Schmid playing amazing, the Devs are down 3 to 0 and folks wouldn't still be clinging to this nonsense.

But oh yea, sure, that team was "close". And assuming this team healthy beats the Caps is objectively hilarious. The same Caps that have dominated this core for 5 years or so? Those Caps? The Canes are always a problem for the Caps. Been that way for 3 years btw. Still thought if Protas was healthy, they win that series though. He's that important to that roster (played hurt. clearly impacted imo...and his own interview).
What?? Igor saved 9 goals above expected in that series. You have many ridiculously bad takes, but this one is up there. Right next to Jack Hughes isn’t a center.

I specifically remember you spiking the football after game 2. Then you got stuffed in a locker.

I literally said as much a few pages back btw but also the Devils controlled that series 5v5. You can say they were lucky to win that series and it would ignore that fact how good Shesterkin is in the playoffs. The Devils walked over the Rags and almost lost that series cause of goaltending and then proceeded to lose the very next series due to goaltending then decided to stand pat for the following year while shaking up the one thing cause Fitz is a moron.

I already proved why caring about this above is wrong, the Shero Devils pissed on the Penguins yearly when the latter was winning Cups. Shit happens in this league, the Capitals also weren't going to get the same finishing they did in the regular season in the playoffs. It was painfully obvious.

Correct, only reason that series was close was because Igor played lights out. The Devils were better in that series, it's f***ing laughable that someone says "Akira played like god" when he was ASKED to do the bare minimum then completely ignored the actual god goaltender in the series

What does any of that stuff have to do with the WHOLE ENTIRE TEAM looking like and skating like slow as hell beer league slugs. Stop with the excuses.

Florida went seven games, had one day off and proceeded to destroy the Canes two straight without batting an eye.

We’d be bugs on a windshield at this point. You guys don’t get it. I like our team and our top guys but they aren’t capable of competing against that even at full health.

I love small sample sizes too, it's happened once to this core because they've only one chance in said situation. People bitch about this core not handling adversity then ignore what they've actually done. I get wanting a Cup as much as the next person but you guys are spoiled from the Hawks/Pens teams of the past with how fast teams win.

Seems like I touched a nerve lol. We had one f***ing forward out, one. Yeah we had a bazillion out on defense.

Does that excuse the other healthy guys that were in the lineup to be completely out of shape so bad to the point where they’re gassed in game five?

Are they skating on their shoulders or something?

If you think AHL quality players skate well just as well as NHL quality players, you're ignoring the plot.

It wasn't just 1 series that they fell apart. They were a mess for all of February, March, and April. Routinely getting shutout against the teams that currently held playoff spots.

They went into the season with 4/5 top 6 forwards and 3 centers. Jack out meant they now had 3 (Mercer fell apart and wasn't really good enough in a top 6 role) top 6 forwards and 2 centers. They brought in Glass to at least cover the 3rd line. In the end, they had 1 scoring line, 2 grind lines, and 1 dead weight do nothing line that didn't have a functional center.

It was too easy for non-dysfunctional defenses to stop them solely because Jack was no longer there.

The Stars just don’t have it. They are lucky Rantanen went god mode. Their forwards and depth are overrated. Johnston, Duchene, Benn, Robertson (since his return) have been awful all postseason
