OOT scoreboard 2025 playoff edition

Article notes that viewership was down 12% this year - interesting read.

people just have to accept that the nhl isn't going to draw big numbers which is fine. want to try and help fix it? don't show out of conference games. do more b2b home and home style matchups against division or geo rivals then broadcast both the games.

oh and get the stupid games of espn+ the few people that aren't diehards and watch aren't diehard enough to watch it on an app

To me he's just a loud mouth....I guess shouting makes you seem more knowledgeable to his fans at least 🙄
I don't appreciate your insinuation (though I imagine that wasn't your intention).

But just in case, let me point out that I'm not his fan at all.

He's a blowhard.

But that doesn't mean I don't acknowledge when he does have a point in rare instances like this one.

Sorry just my take on him .... nothing to do with you or your point.🤷‍♂️

I'm ultimately rooting for Pete without a doubt. After that it's Vitek, Boqvist, Greer, Nosek and Kulikov. I don't know if VV gets a ring though with the amount of games played.

I thought it might be just non-NFL ratings are down for all but it sounds like NBA ratings are up, in particular cause the Knicks are good.

The big teams (especially the blackhawks it sounds like) being bad this year certainly a major factor. I've been predicting the NHL"s peaked for a while now, and maybe culturally it has but the revenue stream from the cult fans should last a long time, generations even, and expansion will bring in more revenue. I sort of see it as boxing today, healthy but culturally irrelevant outside its relatively smaller fanbase.

I’m skeptical of the Panthers, as they’ve looked out of gas at times.

I do think Edmonton will beat Dallas and I think Edmonton will beat Carolina if they get to the SCF.

I’d like to say the Panthers beat the Canes, but I’m really conflicted on that one.

Marner to Carolina is my prediction. Yippee.

He’s not really a BrindAmour type of guy in my view. They moved Necas and Marner seems like much more of a prima Donna. Plus is Marner going to walk away from maybe $14 mil per year on a building team to take maybe $11 on Carolina? Maybe he pulls a KD and signs a one year deal with a contender and then tries again if he doesn’t get an offer and situation he likes.

The Panthers are too banged up. Tkachuk is done out there. Barkov looks hurt. Forsling looks hurt. Lundell just left warmups early.

The Leafs couldn’t exploit it because they are losers but the Canes will.

If some of the posters didn't talk about the Knicks in the hockey threads here I'd have no idea that the Knicks were even in the playoffs. The NBA died to me when the Nets announced they were moving to Brooklyn.
