Anyways if Tavares wants to come back to the greater NYC area, I would take him as a 3C
Oh my god...imagine if he was interviewed right now.
I think he's gone. I'm not even sure he wants to be back in TorontoIs marner actually leaving or is this some kind of bs rumor ?
I think 12.5 x 7Wonder what Marner will get at UFA. 14x7 to start.
I think both sides want to move on at this point. The Leafs tried to trade him for Rantanen and he blocked the trade (his wife was pregnant). But he wouldn’t sign an extension. Now he may want to move on as well.Is marner actually leaving or is this some kind of bs rumor ?
Marner deserves a pay cut wherever he goes. Mayor of loservilleI think both sides want to move on at this point. The Leafs tried to trade him for Rantanen and he blocked the trade (his wife was pregnant). But he wouldn’t sign an extension. Now he may want to move on as well.

Has anyone ever considered the Leafs roster just isn’t that good? They have an Auston Matthews with an apparent ongoing wrist issue and a declining Tavares. That leaves Marner and Nylander as their stars at full strength, that’s it. They chose to spend big money on the shiny object seven years ago and not once since then have they had a true number one d-man on the roster. Most of their d-core has been mid as f***. I’m not even sure I can name off the top of my head who they have playing on their back end other than Morgan Reilly. Ditto for bottom six forwards.
They’ve been a poorly constructed roster for the entirety of the time that core has been in place.
They also have like zero swagger. I think players wearing a Maple Leafs sweater know they are destined to always lose. When was the last time they had any star players whatsoever do something amazing in the playoffs?

It goes back to similar situation as parise suter with the wild. How as a franchise do you not sign a super star that wants to come home and be a hero? It’s pretty funny that in both cases neither player is willing to take a home team discount so they could add to the rosters.Has anyone ever considered the Leafs roster just isn’t that good?
