The there was a reason why at the end of December everyone was excited about the Devils. They were right there with both teams and had won or tied the season series with both. And then everything went to hell.

I feel we are going to look back at this season with regret. This should have been a contention season.

They had a dip and then illness and injuries piled up and there wasn't enough depth to weather it.

Team stays healthy they are probably a 100 point team with a very good chance at the ECF

The refs are letting Hill get away with murder in the Vegas goal. 3 or 4 times he could have been penalized.

First he takes offense at a guy in the crease and throws him to the ice after the play.

Next he sucker trips Hyman and then dives and Hyman is called, instead of him.

Third he slashes a guy big time across the back with the goalie stick after a play. Vicious slash.

Fourth, after Kane runs him over he leaves the crease, skates into the corner and tackles him. Roughing at least. He’s retaliating but there’s no free pass for that.

It’s like the refs think there’s some unwritten rule that the goalie gets a free pass when he’s “defending himself” or something.

Crappy refereeing.

The Edmonton games have been so entertaining. I hope they can keep it up. All season long you hear how great playoff hockey is, but both series in the East have been like watching paint dry. Especially that Carolina game last night. Unless you are a Canes fan, you couldn't find more boring sports. Even baseball seems scintillating in comparison. For the sake of Hockey itself as a spectator sport I hope somebody beats the 'Canes and the sooner the better.

There's PLENTY and I do mean plenty of legitimate reasons to hate the Canes and not want them to win (their diving and the league looking the other way on it, their whining, and their homer hick fans with a cult-like atmosphere from the locker room out, and that's all even before getting into the whole they get off on trolling us in the playoffs factor) - I'm with 95% of the board there, but the 'entertainment' factor should not be one of them if you're a Devils fan. Especially since it's not even like this year's team was all that exciting never mind the peak Lou years when the rest of the league got on us for squeezing the life out of the game.

I think Canes vs Panthers/Leafs could potentially be entertaining, but Canes/Caps has been horrific.

Even our games against them weren’t this boring. And the Caps weren’t this boring in the regular season.

Thompson had a game 5 Markstrom-esque type game last night.

They probably should have scored 4 on him, but every goal was at least stoppable.

Goals 1 and 2 were pitiful and goal 4 wasn’t great. The Hall goal was pretty forgivable.
