Two things can be true at the same time. Domi sucks and so do the Panthers. Well said.

It still to this day makes my skin crawl that Dano and Tie are like best buds. I know they know each other better than I ever will, but I'll forever have disdain for that fat headed f***.

As much as I want to see Florida troll Toronto I do worry they'd run out of gas just in time for the Canes.

I was worried Tampa was going to do that a few years back against NYR, but they pulled through.

Meh I have no desire to root against Carolina. Not sure if I want anyone to win the cup. I guess seeing McDavid winning it would be cool. A small Canadian city like Winnipeg would be cool. Tired of Vegas, Florida are dirty scumbags thier fans got a cup now. Losing to the eventual Stanley Cup champions is some small badge of honor.

In the Toronto forums the fans are dumping all over the Leafs as a no show last night and they're ready to trade both Marner and Matthews for not doing more in the series.

I don't see it that way at all. First as to the Leafs effort, Florida just upped their game last night, that happens during a series. The flow of 7 potential games involves teams' improving and changing and adjusting their play. It's now up to Toronto to respond, going home. Florida is good at this, that's why they won the cup last year, when, during the conference finals, they came within an overtime of going 2 games down to the Rangers before coming back to take control of the series. We'll now see if Toronto has another gear.

Second, as to Matthews particularly, you can see he's struggling with maybe a wrist injury and has been all year, the lethal shot simply isn't there, that's how you go from nearly 70 goals to about 30 in a season. Also Bobrovsky has picked up his play at the same time that the puck stopped bouncing so favorably for the Leafs.

I do think that game 5 in Toronto is essential for the Leafs. They've now got to answer. The winner of game 5 likely wins this series.

I don't hate Carolina but I don't want them to win. They're annoying as a team playing style, as a fanbase, and as a narrative. I just don't want them to win anything as long as Brind'Amour is coaching.

I'd cheer for them over Florida or Vegas easily, but I'd cheer for anyone else if the Canes were a matchup. Not as vigorously as I would if it was a team I truly don't like, though.

Mixed feelings about Carolina, love the way their FO operates and get annoyed by opposing fans that bash their smart moves, but also hate how they've owned NJ over the years and how arrogant some of their fans seem over said FO despite the fact they've yet to win a thing of consequence in the Tulsky era. Also i kind of can't help rooting for Taylor Hall.

Overall at this point though I'm rooting for McDavid/Draisaitl to win a cup just cause I want to see their remarkable excellence rewarded.

What part of the narrative is annoying? I actually like that they always seem to get players who commit fully to the system, and there is no doubt that Brind'Amour is a really good coach. I guess the Canes beating the Devils is an annoying part of the narrative...

For me an annoying narrative would be the NYR, and how easily they can attract top end talent. The result they get from it is quite funny though.
