OOT scoreboard 2025 playoff edition

Not only are they 0-3 with Skinner, that’s now 2 times in those 3 games that he’s allowed a game winning goal in the final minute.

I’d rather have Mackenzie Blackwood right now in goal for the Oilers. I’d rather have Kenny Sutton in goal.

Pickard hasn’t even been particularly good, Skinner has just been terminal illness.
I think they’d be better off with Aaron Dell.

Skinner sucks, and that’s on him. But what in the hell was that defense? It was 1 guy that beat 3-4 already back and playing the rush chance. And it wasn’t like he did something McDavid, MacKinnon or Jack Hughes does. It was a pure dump and chase lol.
Exactly what I was thinking! They were scrambling and flopping all over the ice. I am like what are these guys doing?? lol.

Hot damn the Caps are actually making us look good in comparison against the Canes which I didn’t think was possible, they’re putting up about as much resistance as the 2010 Devils against the Flyers

It sucks because a healthy Devils could've probably made a run here themselves but they had no chance once Jack went down because of the scumbag Eichel play in March.

Also, I think the 2010 Devils were done in by the softness of that defensive core + thinking Nic Havelid could PK versus a team using Chris Pronger like Chris Kreider on the powerplay

Gotta correct this, Havelid was a Devil in 2009. Martin Skoula was on the 2010 Devils. Also the Devils tried using Colin White at the front of their power play. It was a very strange time.

Watching Vegas last night - particularly the 3d period - how good they are at clogging up the neutral zone and possessing the puck there.

That is such a key to success in the league. When we were playing our best last season we were very active and aggressive between the blue lines. When we were weak that was where you saw us weak.

I think this is fine, Skinner was aware of how much time was left in the period and knew he didn't have to recover his net. Smith had no angle to shoot and if Draisaitl doesn't make a play on the puck we would've had an overtime.

I think the bigger question is likely what is the risk vs. the reward?

LOL when the league is so inconsistent in their rulings every season it takes them ten minutes to review a goal because they have no earthly idea if its a goal or not based on their own rulings

lol I thought it wouldn't count based on Haula's non goal against the Leafs in that 3 disallowed goal game. He kicked it but then it got deflected by the Leafs into the net which is kinda what happened here.
They are never consistent with kicks. I would have go back and look at that one again.

I would imagine in this case the ruling is it isn’t a direct kick as it wouldn’t have going on goal without Hellebuyck batting it in. Kind of like how they award an own goal in soccer,

Me too and it should not have counted IMO. Turns out that it isn't going to matter but seemed like BS to me, didn't hear the ruling

Thought the EXACT same thing lmao. That no goal back in 2022-2023 pissed me off so bad lol.

Havelid was 2009, but the Flyers series was definitely 2010.

You must be thinking of Martin Skoula. He was that year’s useless deadline defenseman add. Both were literally playing out their final games in the league with us lol.

Ah yes, correct. I confused them, still one of the dumbest things I've seen Lemaire do and he got out coached to hell by John Stevens in that series.
