OOT scoreboard 2025 playoff edition

I'm not talking about their past, or potential as a cup contender. Of course their team is currently a cup contender, and that is the point.

If Colorado doesn't get past the 1st round, how should that be rated?

This TDL they gave up a shit ton of assets, A quick check from AI

9 players and 6 draft picks.

They are on the verge of elimination. If I were an Avs fans, I'd be pretty pissed at the situation. Hence my point, I wouldn't want to be them right now.

NJ potentially banging out a 1st round exit with half your d core out and others injured but playing, and minus jack, while, a stacked Colorado team facing elimination.... You can settle NJs case a lot better as a fan.

Curious to see how that plays out.

It'd be a lot harder to swallow if NJ had won a cup three years ago.

I get your point, but their top guys proved it. Even if they go on to lose 1st rounds for the next few years, they won a cup.

NJ having only made the playoffs 3 times in 13 years, twice being (likely) eliminated by the f***ing Hurricanes, is a damn sight harder to swallow.

I was trying to keep context to this season, with my OG post, but yeah in short.

This season: Avs fans potentially very unhappy with the brink state.
Over last 3-5 seasons: Avs fans a lot of happiness.
Future: bright but they mortgaged a lot this season.

Fair?

Bednar is going to get fired if the Avs don’t win this series. 9 years and only made it out the second round once (their cup win)

Throwing the Rantanen stuff in there isn’t fair cause they also got back Necas, that certainly wasn’t a classic all in move since they cashed out as best they could. In general, people really need to get over the sticker shock of teams going all in. Perhaps this wasn’t a year for Colorado to do so but they might be running out of time with this group and how stacked the West is.

And Bednar probably should be replaced if they lose this series to a compromised Dallas team, they really haven’t gotten the most out of their group just like Shero had to be replaced in Pittsburgh because at a certain point they ‘only’ had one Cup from their group.

Oh I know Rantonen for Necas washes itself out, agreed there. Only question for me is Necas signs with them. (He hasn't yet, I thought).
