Weekes is fine to me, but I do think at times he has the personality that's maybe more fitted to be an analyst or a host of like NHL2nite (remember when they had that on ESPN back in the 90s and early 00s?) if they ever brought that back, more than an in-game commentator.

But he doesn't bother me.

McDonough is a very good pxp caller in general, but he is certainly a guy who needs more reps during the season but doesn’t get them because of his schedule. Bucci just isn’t very good on play by play and tries to be every role. Weekes talks too much (there is something to letting a game breathe) and is generally a cheerleader for everyone.

We got spoiled during NBC’s tenure because Doc, Kenny, and Forslund are top tier. Then they brought in Gord Miller and Chris Cuthebert for the playoffs. Gave everything a big game feeling.
