I get that its unlikely but it is 100% in the realm of possibility. Isles have Calgary Jackets and Canucks next. They can easily win those next 3.

This Devils roster is playing on THIN margins. Especially if another top 9 winger in Palat is out. That Mercer Palat Tatar line has been important in this recent stretch. If Devils don’t get the job done then Isles may be close by next week.

If they get caught by the Islanders (after the year they have had) and Montreal (who we have beaten each time this year), I think the Devils needs to suspend operations for at least a year.

The fact that these teams are still relevant to us after NYR and Columbus have fallen apart, just goes to show how bad we have screwed this up.

I can understand the thinking but as we have been told the NJ braintrust is a consensus group. I'm not sure that Fitz will be pushed out even if they miss by a couple of points. Do the owners really care all that much at this point with their other interests? Are the couple of home playoff games going to put the team in the black? Hard to say, but I expect Fitz to stick around next season.

It is certainly possible. We could lose 10 in a row. It’s just extremely unlikely.

Wouldn’t be shocked if things get uncomfortably close, but lots and lots of bad has to happen while lots of good has to happen to a couple other pretty shit teams.

and the odds for the Devils to win in the 3rd last night were?

What were the Flyers odds to make it in last March?

What were the Jackets odds three weeks ago?

Rangers odds were 76% on March 9th

Things change quickly my friend. A pretty simple 0-3 coming up by NJ will change things fast if other teams get the job done. This isn’t an insurmountable gap with a month left and with the Devils playing with zero margin for error because they don’t have a good enough roster to make up for any mistakes, things can definitely get hairy.

Need a big performance on Saturday. Unfortunately Sens will be coming guns a blazing because they were embarrassed in their last gm.

The last game of the season will be unlike anything we’ve seen if we’re eliminated from the playoffs either before that game or during it.

I’m pretty sure the fans will be screaming Fire Fitzy at the top of their lungs.

And if Markstrom sees much more time and still continues to suck while doing it, I’m pretty sure there will be plenty of negative words spewed his way that we never saw with the last few goalies.

The Devils need to win 3 out of the next 6 (or get 6 points) in some fashion. I don't really care how. Alternate wins/losses. Lose the next 3, win the 3 after. Lose the next 6 in shootouts, idc. Just get it done.

If you can enter that April stretch with 86 points, with 6 games left, I think we'll be fine.

Right now most of the models have us 94-95% chance of making it or a 1 in 20 chance of missing. Likely to happen? No. But sometimes you roll a 2 or 12 in craps.

Hopefully you are correct. It's just been a step forward and a step back over the course of the season so it's difficult to have confidence in a good outcome. Fingers crossed they string together a few wins.

They just aren't good enough.

I liked the hiring of Dean Evason as head coach for them. He was always a candidate for Devils head coach for me before we got Keefe. But he probably would have been playing Markstrom a bunch right now too. Maybe even in some of the games Allen got anyway. Minnesota didn't even realize Gustavsson should be playing over Fleury until after he was fired, despite how much better Gustavsson was playing than Fleury was.

I think they could have made the playoffs if some f***in worthless drunk piece of shit didn't run over and kill Johnny Gaudreau and his brother. Especially with how f***in terrible wild card 2 in the East is potentially going to be this year.

I would have liked them to get in over the other alternatives, to be honest with you. But going up against us all those times business is business and I don't regret us beating them 2 times in regulation in a week.

But when it comes to the other potential teams? f*** the YzerMcLellanFraud, the f*** the Islanders, f*** the Rangers. The Canadiens are whatever, I have no opinion on them one way or the other.

So damn frustrating because with these moves and a healthy Jack Hughes, Dougie, Siegs, and Marky...I think the Devils give Carolina a good run and win that series in 6-7....
