It would be pretty funny if the Isles made the playoffs after finally selling some assets off.

We can get to 90 by going just 5-8-0 to the finish. Detroit would need to go 10-4-0 to get to 90. Columbus and Islanders 10–5-0, Rangers 9-4-0 and Canadiens 8-6-1 to get to 90.

And our schedule is not difficult and very home heavy. I don't think our fanbase needs to be too concerned about making it at this point

The reporting was that Shero pitched the idea of a five year deal to Hall's agent and Hall wanted an 8 year deal and they never went past the initial discussions to talking money. One of the smarter things Shero did in retrospect. I'm tired of NJ having to overpay guys to play. If you want out, leave. I'm cheering for whoever is in a NJ uniform.

As it worked out people would have even bitched about the five year deal being too much for too long lol

So if he had taken just the 5 year deal from us he would have been in the same spot he's at right now. UFA in the summer of 2025. That also was if we didn't re-sign him. And with the way he is now, I think we would have forced him out of town by now. Especially with how much of a f*** he was acting like at the end.

And the f***in bozo went to UFA that year and got just a one year deal from Buffalo at like $8.5 million? Yeah, f*** him.

And then the Bruins extended him 4 years and shipped him off to Chicago to shed cap two years in.

Apparently Boston offered him the same deal the year before, but he declined so he get could a couple or few million more dollars for one from Buffalo.

Why isn't there a rule in the NHL if the puck bounces off a ref that leads to a direct goal in the same possession, that it should not count.

The ref is considered part of the ice surface. The only thing that doesn't count is if the puck goes into the net directly off the ref.

After tonight Montreal moves to 2 games behind us. More importantly Islanders move to 3 games behind and Columbus 3.5 games. Rangers stay at 4

Islanders have two games in hand and head to head vs us remaining.

The Islanders aren’t making the playoffs at the Devils expense. The Devils own every tiebreaker. Wins, Regulation Wins, Row etc etc. They basically would need to win out and the Devils to lose 70% of their games.
