They were winning 2-0 at one point in this game and I had that as a win for them because it's Anaheim.

This is why I was less than impressed with the humpty heater they went on and not showing them much respect for it.

They're a fast team and a fairly skilled one, but their D sucks and I'm skeptical that Marty St. Louis is there for any reason other than he's a speaker of the French language.

The Islanders catching fire which guarantees Lou won’t sell is a good outcome for me. If CBJ stays this hot and actually passes us, all you can do is laugh. And it wouldn’t exactly make our 1st round matchup any tougher really.

I don’t know why we care about the Rangers so much. They’re done. Unless they’re the next team to go on an 8-10 game winning streak.

Now we need to worry about Columbus and the Islanders.

And if both of these teams make the playoffs (not one, but both) then guess what team currently is the safest bet to finish out of the playoffs?

If we miss the playoffs after the lead we had this year that’s completely unacceptable. Especially after what happened last year.

It could happen. If you put $100 on us to make it you’d win $4.55. If you put $100 on the Islanders to make it you’d win $200. Same bet for CBJ you’d win $285.

Definitely not impossible, but not yet something we need to be worrying about. Islanders now losing btw.

I always try to think of those playoff odds in fractional terms and like if you are throwing a pair of dice. 90% chance of making it is a 1-in-10 chance of missing, or a slightly better chance of rolling a 4 if you throw a pair of dice. It’s unlikely but not impossible or unimaginable.

We have been pathetic since Christmas , lose Nico , lose our starting G , lose our 3C , and decide to sit on our hands and do nothing at all while teams around us are all gaining ground . We are going to miss the playoffs if this keeps going . If Fitz doesn’t do anything , he deserves to get fired . If we miss the playoffs especially so.
 
Miller was never coming here! The Devils name was just floated out by Vancouver as a half assed attempt at leverage. There was only ever one destination for him. The only reason people are complaining is because if the BS rumor the Canucks intentionally floated.

Out of town scoreboard went our way in the 3rd in those first two games, after looking bleak the first 2 periods.

Lankinen is in for Vancouver and not Demko, so that’s good.

Demko has played like he’s being subbed for by the current Cory Schneider this year.

I don’t at all care about the Rangers. Let’s see them have another hot week and us have a disaster week before the break before I break one more sweat over them.

If we miss the playoffs I will quit my job and camp outside of the Rock and protest for the entire offseason with a “ Fire Fitz “ sign around my neck .
He needs to do something here. We have 1 legit NHL C in the lineup right now . A backup that is good fur at the very very least 1 soft goal per game , and no one outside the top 6 that can score . We have been dog shit since Cristmas break . Teams are gaining ground . Yet we do nothing at all . Do something . Even if it’s getting someone like Evans .

I honestly think this has more to do with what he did or didn’t do in the offseason than what he isn’t doing right now.

The Canes subtracted their top scorer to get him and Necas has been fantastic with Colorado.

Miller is good. We didn’t have the cap space and I doubt Fitz had a whole lot of interest in that contract long term. Plus he had control over where he went.

The Rangers got crushed both games, tonight especially. They won in usual fashion tonight riding a great goalie and power play performance.
 
Three shutouts in a row against the Flyers.

Torts is the worst thing that ever happened to them.

Should have just let the tank run its course on that franchise rather than employ a head coach who does everything to keep them out of the basement.

He was hired before the “tank” Briere and Jones just kept him (or haven’t been allowed to fire him).
 
The trade deadline is still a month away. And the break into the tournament is a week away.

So much time. Again, I could see Fitz waiting on MTL or NYI to play out the week to see where they are into the break and then next weekend, we'll get our guy(s).

I think the Jackets may have gotten hosed on the game winning goal. Looked above the crossbar.

And LOL @ everyone’s favorite former Devils defenseman on the insurance goal after that.

They probably just think they’re a goalie away.

They’re really just an average head coach away from battling for last place in the league.

I really hope Tocchet and everybody else is fired in Vancouver after this year.

Actually, no I don’t. I hope they further implode the team and Quinn wants out. Then they can be fired.

But Tocchet should go after this year. His NHL head coaching resume is a joke.

I don’t care how callous I am, I wanna see him scorched after this year.

It’s not like he’s gonna end up a broke dick after this year if he’s fired. He’s probably under contract for next year with Vancouver.

And you know TNT will put his ugly mug and hiney head back on TV if he has no coaching job.
