4 goals on 16 shots so far for Freddie
Overrated has-been goalie (at this point, not his first few years on the Leafs) that gets celebrated for good play despite the fact that he can’t stay out of the hospital bed or other medical facilities.

Also a huge suspect in the loss in the playoffs last year to the Rangers.

I was totally expecting the Canes to exile him to the Blackhawks after that, but he still remains…..in between extended stays on the IR.

I’m just gonna go sit down, have something to eat. Leave the TV off and not look at anything hockey related online until around 10:00.

I don’t feel like stressing out watching the scores nonstop till 10:00.

Hoping for at least a couple of favorable results tonight.

Rangers 7-1-3 in last 11

They simply weren’t trying the first 30 gms of the season. Thats how bad the locker room was during all that drama

Would be funny if just as they're righting the ship, Drury finally pulls the trigger on a Miller trade and it plunges them right back into chaos.

Because Rangers gonna Ranger.

What gets me is how the f*** did they fix it?
The trades probably woke the locker room up to start giving a damn

Plus, they were never in a massive hole. Their 12-3 (something like that) start to the season helped. I think they were 5 pts out of 8th at one point.

Plus, Igor being Igor

Korpisalo shutting out the Sens lol. That’s the second game in a row the Sens got shutout. Dat Travis Green offense tho.

I don’t know if it’s been discussed but I noticed DiPietro was listed as the backup for Boston tonight. I figured Swayman was pulled last night because they were gonna turn around and start him again tonight, but is it possible he also left the game last night injured?

I honestly think the Rangers are probably the safest bet at the moment to get into the playoffs.

I wouldn’t have said that at the start of the month, but I also wouldn’t have had teams like Montreal, Columbus or Detroit getting in either.

I think the Rangers are the safest money to get in out of those other teams. I think the Rangers are at least a little bit better and more proven than any of those teams. And what would be a surprise to no one I’d bet Igor over Montembeault, Elvis and Talbotlyon.

I don’t know what to say as far as Boston goes. They were a mediocre team last year masquerading as a really good team. And nobody talked about it. It was the NHL’s best kept secret of last year. This year they’re a mediocre team portraying themselves as nothing more than a mediocre team. And everyone knows it now.

Don’t get me started on Ottawa. Travis Green coached NHL teams never fare well in 82 game seasons.

Remember when the Bruins were the best regular season team ever then got bounced in the first round? This kinda feels like that.
That's my impression of them as well. Lots of puck luck and PDO. While they are a very good team they are getting 110% of what they have to offer. That's hard to sustain over a long season and playoff.

Yeah I do think they are a good team, but they aren’t presidents trophy good. I can see them winning a round, or if the good vibes keep maybe even turning into a run that finally ends when they have to face the west winner. Especially since the east looks wide open and a tier below the top teams in the west.

I'll take the Caps winning over any of the other clowns in our division like the Canes, Rags (I still think they cool down and miss ), Philly, etc... Columbus would be a nice story I got no issues with them taking a wildcard spot. We should be good to keep at least 3rd in the division barring catastrophic collapse.

I could totally see the Capitals falling flat on their faces against the Rangers in the first round.

Don’t even tell me it’s not possible. I think we all know it is. And not because of those 2010s playoff chokejobs to them, but because of last year and the fact the Capitals could hit their regression by being ousted by the Rangers in round one.

I’m not saying the Rangers will definitely beat them either. I’m just saying that I could totally see it.

If Igor is healthy they can conceivably beat almost any team

They have Igor and they are probably going to add Miller for cheap as there is no market for him.

It’s why I originally said you can’t write them off if they got through that tough stretch. We had a chance to bury them and let off the mat in the January game.

I don't think they can beat anybody, but I wouldn't put it past them to beat the Caps. And it will be seen widely as an upset, but it probably won't be.

And I know most people can probably see them ousting the Caps too, even if they don't wanna say it.

I know some will argue that point and say ''No way they beat the Caps!'' and I just wonder how many of the people who will say that are the same people talking about how the Caps are overachieving and are shooting percentages above the league average.

Nashville is outshooting the Caps 30-14 right now. Caps up 3-1
Seems about right . Same thing happened when Caps played the Oilers few days ago . Caps Outshot and outplayed badly and still won . They are unreal lucky . Their team shooting % is crazy high , everyone is having career years , goaltending is unreal out of nowhere . Seems like everything goes their way . I can’t stand them . Just when I thought they were going to be irrelevant, they pull this shit out of their bums .

It won’t last beyond this season.
