I don’t care about Carolina. They’re probably gonna stay in front of us.

But can’t they beat Columbus?

The Blue Jackets are an unstoppable force now. DD warned us we should watch out for them in the standings! :D
The first goal was a hilariously brutal softy on Freddie “still elite when he’s not in a hospital bed” Andersen.

Canes PBP guy was like “Andersen couldn’t come up with it” lol.

That's where a series with them I'd feel very very very confident. We can definitely take advantage of Kotchekov and Andersen v us having Markstrom but my god are their skaters so f***ing annoying with the style they play.

Also I wouldn't hold my breath on CBJ, B2B v Carolina is a recipe of them getting scored 5 unanswered and losing 5-2.

Devils only a gm back of Canes if they lose. Canes didn’t really do anything during NJs struggles

Edit: Eh nvm, we were up by 8 pts at one point. But Canes had 3 gms in hand. So I guess they did make some movement in the standings

Yzerplan up 3-0 on Montreal.

Well, now it’s 3-1. Why do I feel like Montreal will come back in that one?

2-1 Jackets now. Canes got a goal.

Jackets current play isn’t sustainable. They were around average for a bit but now they are just getting clobbered in play every gm. Their finishing cant save them much longer

Another classic call from the legend

Reddit doesn’t embed well unfortunately
I can’t see it, but I’m guessing this is probably the Avs brutal and bush league PBP guy’s call on the Pionk game winner last night?

With a very flat and bored “score”.

I think this has to be trained into them. Because the radio PBP guy who used to be the television PBP guy would call goals for the opposition the same way.

What if they somehow get average goalie play? I don’t know how they’re doing this with the goalie numbers they have this year.

They’ve probably had better goalie play lately, but team save percentage (goalie play only, not including empty netters) is .889%, which is over a full percentage below the league average, which is currently .901%.

That’s even considerably lower than the Devils team goalie save percentage of .896% last year.

No idea how they’re doing this with those incompetent goaltending numbers.

Dont think it helps. They give up way too many higher danger chances a gm

I actually thought an Evason team would mitigate dangerous chances against, but perhaps this is the trade off for how high flying their offense has been.

It appears they’ve been playing a very run and gun style and that’s what’s led to their offensive success.

They seem to be a rush team, but they don’t have the horses on either end that the 22-23 Devils had to make that style of play work to the level that they’re not giving up too many chances at the other end.

Thanks for nothing Blue Jackets. 4 goals in less than 10 minutes.
I’m happy with this result or at least I will be if it holds.

But only because I’m paranoid (rationally or irrational) about us with the way we’ve lost recently.

And if the huge game last night was any consolation the Markstrom injury just still leaves jaded with the current state of the team. So I’d like to keep all teams behind us at bay at the moment. I was even rooting for a Rangers win over them last weekend, which resulted in a dual shutout and Rangers shootout win.

And in that case I’d like a Bruins win tonight, but please no OT/3 pointer like the last game between those two teams on Saturday.
