OOT Scoreboard 2023-24 playoffs

  • Xenforo Cloud will be upgrading us to version 2.3.5 on March 3rd at 12 AM GMT. This version has increased stability and fixes several bugs. We expect downtime for the duration of the update. But you need the skaters in front of the average goaltending to play a brand of hockey that makes the goaltender the last resort.

You need forwards that are willing to play a 200' game and defensemen that back each other up, take care of their own zone, win battles and make smart plays with the puck....

We seem to be lacking in all areas

Boston needs to prove they're not a paper tiger. Running over the Leafs is whatever.

They never have the top end to break through when it matters.

Their cup came off one of the best goaltending performances in history.

And they didn't get it done in the finals because their big guys didn't show up when it mattered most, as usual. They're one of the most overrated franchises in sports.

People have a fetish for them since they're a low rent version of what we had, but poorer execution and talent.

And we have much more to learn from the prime DET, CHI and TB teams - teams that were actually great.

Never said that Tom didn't need to make upgrades to our forwards and defense but you gotta think that bringing in a good coach would be able to help our players play a better 200 ft game.

Stupid penalty by Jamie Benn turned the game around. He let himself be baited by Carrier into matching roughing calls and 4 on 4 hockey. Vegas scores 10 seconds after the ensuing face off and some blatant interference on the draw, preventing the Dallas defenseman to get out on the shooter.

The amount of interference they let go as standard procedure in the game these days astonishes me. Vegas is running pick plays constantly and we saw a ton of it earlier in the Boston game too.

Then bingo, Dallas gives up a shorthanded goal and it’s game tied.

its unfortunate they want thr game to be a slog rather than something that rewards good play rather than goood cheating but the veterans in the game want it slowed down.

when my soccer club was young we got beat by lack of man muscle, not talent.

when we got to the level (second season) we did it all. mash and dash. both. hard as f*** play and fast attacks

when we got slower and older we still knew timing and positioning... we made a point sometimes playing slog versus some teams that could burn speed in the late years.

it was all in the armory of the team's need

had to be able to do it all
