Gerard Gallant is the most overrated head coach in the NHL.

That’s a lot of wasted dollars going to a mediocre head coach that doesn’t even average 2.5 years per stint.

They’ve allowed just about 50 shots to the Islanders.

This is looking like one of those “Yeah, we look more at the quality of shots than the quantity of shots” pressers for Hynes.

Judging by the shot numbers in that game it looks like they’re really holding on for dear life and trying to dodge all the meteors that are coming through the roof.

Now if he gets fired here at some point in the next year, who’s the next team to run to hire him to try to catch some of his very short term lightning in a bottle? Does he come full circle back to Columbus to try and spark them for a year or two with Gaudreau and Laine?

I looked it up before and I found the title, but I had never heard of it outside of after losses at their home games.

They’ve been using it for a LONG time. Possibly 20+ years? Definitely 15, as I distinctly remember it after Madden’s OT winner in the 2008 playoffs.

I can still hear the harmonica going off right after that goal.

I have got to say that between the great news of Big Z and The Other Jesper getting apartments and now this, it's pretty much made the Devils loss to the Preds waaaay easier to swallow.

Especially when the Devils gained a point while the Isles gained nothing and the Rags gained only 1.

Gallant seems like a nice guy. I don’t dislike him or anything and I thought Florida kind of did him dirty. And not because of the cab thing, but because they just fired him at the most random time and they were really FUBAR’ing the organization that year for some reason. And they really blew it up with the expansion draft after that year.

I just think he’s not really the guy he gets the credit for being. That’s all.
