I don't think Vilardi will be down here long, he'll probably play the two huge games coming up against Stockton on Sunday and Monday, then we'll see where it goes. Rosters for both the Kings and Reign getting very crowded now, at least with the forwards. D is very thin in ONT with the call ups due to injury.

It's the right move at this time. Hasn't played in a while. Get him back into game shape and hopefully go full beast mode for a few weeks.
Still a huge fan of this kid.
Huge fan of this move. Keep the kid down there for at least a year and a half. He needs to fully develop his game. I love the guy, but he needs it.

Ontario's defense will get thinner with World Juniors and Grans playing for Sweden. Probably will add a journeyman AHL dman or 2 to hold down the fort. Sending Strand down if their schedules allow to play is also an option.

I wondered as well. My guess is they have built in some stretches of idle time for COVID make up games?

Scheduling quirk. Toyota arena was already booked for events on Friday and Saturday night when the schedule was made. Reign got stuck with a Sunday matinee and a Monday game, a death knell for attendance.

Reign released their 7th D man today from his PTO, have to think Strand will be coming back down soon, especially since Doughty is supposed to skate at practice tomorrow.

Who are the main six. Moverare, Phillips, Gaunce, Grans, Spence and Durzi? Where the heck does Strand fit in? Do they swap out with Phillips and then Phillips is the 7th man?

Durzi is up with the Kings, so Strand has a spot to play in the big match up for first place with Stockton on Sunday/Monday.

Stroked to see Durzi make it to the big show. I hope he gets a shot on the pp and decent minutes

Good to see Durzi getting his cup of coffee. Does anybody know whether Vilardi will be utilized on the wing or at center in Ontario? I hope he's kept at center and learns a 200ft game. Guy's gonna be a beast if he pans out. I imagine:

Byfield
Vilardi
Danault

down the middle. This of course involves a Kopitar trade or expiration of contract. Vilardi being a top 6 also turns Turcotte into a tradeable asset. It's good to have as many trade chips as possible. You can make that deadline deal trade that puts your team over the top and into contention.

Woo, I'm actually pretty excited for today--Ontario Stockton at 3, Kings Yotes after that. Fun day for the org. Much more excited for this Reign game though...hope they don't miss Durzi too much, get the feeling there's gonna be some physicality and thus special teams

Sounds like they're using him at wing thankfully.

Bummer. I'd like to see him play center and with the right rehabbing, I think he'd have a great career at center in the NHL.

I was told that he didn't wear the red "no contact" jersey today at practice. Not sure when his actual return date will be but that's one step closer.

He has been skating with the team in the red no contact jersey for quite a while.

Just to confirm... I have seen Akil Thomas skating with a regular jersey on in multiple practices. No idea what it means for his return but he's out there with the team.
