Can someone please post a lineup of Ontario’s lines last year ? I wanna make a note of possible lineup because it is honestly exciting that we are going to be this stacked with talent and can get better idea of what prospect will stick In the future and where they might fit in .
Also I’m just really confused which one of Kupari , Thomas , Madden , Turcotte will be wings or centers .
Was Vilardi and Kupari tried at center last year in Ontario ? I know Vilardi was center in LA just wondering about Ontario . This is insane lol . When does next season start !
That's a bit of a tall order since one thing Stothers was famous for was moving players around on lines to try and find a combination that works. Much more movement on the lines than the Kings do. Remember, Vilardi did not start the season with the Reign, he was still injured but when he did he played about 1 1/2 games on RW, but was immediately moved to C where he played the remainder of the season with the Reign or the Kings exclusively at C. Kupari played at C all season with the Reign until he was injured. He started out as the 1C if I recall correctly, but worked his way down to 2C and even 3C as he struggled. I'm not sure about Madden, but I think he only played C in college. Turcotte played some LW in the NDTP but was primarily a C the last couple of years. Thomas can play wing or C.
One line that gelled the last few months of the season was Eyssimont-JAD-Byron. They played very well as a unit and were the team's primary threat after Frk and Vilardi were promoted. Frk and Vilardi were a good combo at both levels. Sodergran started out on the higher lines but worked his way to the 4th. Sutter played C or LW, usually on 3rd line. Luff and Grundstrom where top six guys at RW and LW respectively, but like a said, players rotated quite often. Rempal's game fell off a cliff (he's in danger of not getting a qualifying offer), although he did play well the last month of the season before it came to an abrupt halt.
I'll give it a try here, with the following assumptions as of today's date, and these are not all realistic (some of these players could make the Kings roster).
Assumption #1, Grundstrom is on the Kings (not exposed to waivers, too risky).
Assumption #2, Imama, Reddekopp, Rempal and Kehler are not qualified and become UFA's.
Assumption #3, Strand, Eyssimont and Luff are qualified, and Luff passes through waivers.
Assumption #4, We don't know who else the Kings (and be sent down) and or Reign will sign from other organizations, so obviously things can change.
Fagemo-Madden-Luff
Thomas-Turcotte-Kupari
Eyssimont-JAD-Bryon
Sodergran or Dudas-Sutter-Halloran
Doty, Morrison and Rymsha as extras (I can see Morrison and Rymsha going back to the ECHL)
Bjornfot-Clague
Brickley-Strand
Hults or Moverare and Durzi
Phillips
Obviously Bjornfot or Clague making the Kings changes the dynamic and will make this once again a very young defense, not ideal for the AHL. LaDue is a huge loss for this team.
Villalta
Ingham
My guess is they bring in an NHL/AHL vet and sent Ingham to the ECHL to play everyday. Organization will want some NHL experience around in case one of Petersen or Quick are injured.
