I have the whole game in HD on my external drive and ended up watching it last night.
I remember the game being played on a Friday the 13th. Given how grueling the previous three series were, all being decided in seven games, it was pleasing to the nerves to see them finish off the Rangers in 5, and on home ice.

I remember I went to a sports bar with my stepbrother. I brought a change of clothes with me, because I didn't want to go home to change. He's a Bruins fan, but we take turns rooting for each other's teams when they are competing in the playoffs, and he was somehow happier than I was, because he was so happy for me. Step-brotherly love. I think I was just more relieved, because as you said, I didn't want it to go another 7 games, and it's impossible to top the elation of 2012.

If you ever need a good definition of serendipity, it's "we want the the Cup", and the team scores an OT Cup winner while the crowd is saying it.
The 1st Cup was the 1st Cup, but there were just so many story lines from the 2nd one.
