Boring Rangers games really up my cooking

So we were the better team, we won, and we beat a team on a 6 game winning streak. And somehow that's not good enough.

We were the better team? They played the Columbus Blue Jackets at home in a pretty much must win game against a backup goalie. Which Ranger goal impressed you the most. How about those brilliant decisions they made in OT to dump the puck in so that they could make a change. Which scintillating breakaway goal by Zib brought you to your feet. Which 20 second Kreider shift did you like the best. Did Laf or Fil play tonite.

They've gone from horrendous and losing to boring and winning. I'll take it I guess.

There is room to grow a little here. Miller-Borgen clicking is fantastic. Maybe you do extend him. It's not like Schenider ran away with the 2RD spot.

I hope they don't add and maybe you get Gabe on the roster after the season and you give him a run with 7-8 games left.

I suppose it’s just a rule of NHL hockey that the longest tenured guys and/or the teams top players get to do whatever they want. The key is having really good top guys. The rangers sadly have second tier top guys. And here we are.

Might as well play Jimmy Vesey if Matt Rempe is going get just a shift in the 3rd.

They like him in the lineup and it lets them give Cuylle more ice time. I don’t see the problem

Problem is even if the defense is better, last year we had a lot of good things happening offensively. Panarin had a career year, so did Trocheck, so did Lafreniere, Fox was a PPG player, Kreider had 39 goals, and while Zibanejad was showing concerning things he still had 70+ points. None of that is happening now, and on most we're not even close.

I guess the idea is that these players get to their last year forms (or better) for the shorter but more important time of the season. Fools gold? Probably but the thing I truly believe is that every SC champion had quite a bit of luck on their side.

Hey, you can call it a boring game but the devil is in the details. Gotta give an honorable mention to Smith's fab from behind stick move messing up a Blue Jackets scoring opportunity, a little detail that maybe saved the game for us. The Blue Jackets had a 6 game win streak going into last night and were 8-2 for the last 10. We rained on their parade and burst that bubble. They had a pretty good goalie for a bargain bin candidate gotta say. Igor was pretty good, our team overall worked pretty well. Moving up the standings increasing our chances of playoff appearance. Good W! LGR!!

I don't know what Witch Doctor has a grudge against Mika, but at least he was getting chances today. Good chances. It wasn't that awful streak where all he could do is whiff the one timer on the PP and have a hundred turnovers. It's not great, but it's better and that's good.
