I'll never really understand stuff like this:

Waiting 12hrs for a donut. The first 12 in line can get a dozen donuts. Donutmania. None of the people in line saw the Portlandia Brunch episode, I'm sure. Not even a fan of donuts but theres a dozen better bakeries within a mile of that place.
People are f***ed. I bet 95% of them did it just so they could show off on the 'gram. The world continues to get dumber.

Krispy Kreme donuts fresh made and hot are like crack cocaine. Sooooooo good.

Portlandia, comedy series around a decade ago. Spoofs a lot of the idiot Portland kind of mentality but specific to my comment the episode is about a Brunch place being so in demand with huge lineups and people wanting to go like their life depends on it while other places just next door go empty.

Happens so much, people get locked into one place where others are right there, and better, cheaper, etc.

hard pass on Krispy Kreme.

Oh yeah that always happens when a new popular place opens. Jollibee, Peter’s Drive In, Crumbl Cookies, Chick Fil A all crazy lineups for a couple weeks but it’ll die down.

And then I’ll be a regular gorging on Krispy Kreme donuts fresh out of the fryer with their heroin sauce coating melting in my watering mouth.

Not surprised though. Tim Hortons won the donut war here and offer a whopping selection of 5 different kinds to choose from, that is if you can catch them at a time when they’re fully stocked.

I sure miss the days when places like Robin’s donuts or Country Style were around. You walked into those stores and not only did they smell like actual bakeries (because they were) but there were dozens of different items to choose from. We sure accept lots less for much more these days.

Pretty much exactly where I was going with that. Its Lemming behavior. That its things like Donuts and Jolibees that are crazes leaves a lot to be desired too. Awful *food* in both places. I think if the Dollar store had a restaurant the menu would be Jolibees. Heres your chicken with a side of candied fruit and gummi bears with a melted chocolate bar sauce. This is food somewhere. enjoy.

Not a donut fan because I'm Celiac but there's 200 better bakeries in the city and like I said dozen within walking distance of that area. Seems all based on the marketing and hype ability of some of these franchises. Which is even strange because krispy Kreme completely failed in Canada on their first go round. It was a disaster run, basically like the donut version of "Target" here which was just an awful retailer that people kept raving about. I remember going there and theres a whole section of Bday stuff, cards candles, aisles and aisles of the junk while they would lack even the basic things you'd expect to see in any department store. it was like as it it was a dept store in St Petersburgh during communist Russia and production didn't match the 5y interim plan. Whole sections of the store empty without stock. It was a farside cartoon.

Heres something. When I was a kid the local IGA used to make Orange Crullers. They were like apple crullers but to die for. They had orange glaze, they had orange peel incorporated, they had orange taste. They were wonderful. Nobody has seemingly made this since. Dad would take me icefishing and the main bait was him bringing a bag of these. I'd sit out in -30 for 10hrs just to gob a couple of these down. lol
