I know they are pumping it up and making a lot of $$, but Big Fight lol

This is a whatever boxer in Jake fighting a friggin Grandpa LMAO

If Paul loses, he lost to an almost 60 year old. If he wins, he beat up a Grandpa.

Can somebody explain to me what a 'Speak-Easy" bar is?

Basically a bar that is hidden from view, in a secret area, often not advertised much, but popular among those in the know. Like Brent. ;). Name goes back to the prohibition days when you had to keep drinking establishments on the down low.

@bellagiobob nailed the explanation. They were a real thing all during Prohibition.

This one is true to the era in its decor, etc..

I was being sarcastic. Hopefully Tyson has a knock out left in him.

Oh that’s ok. I’m sure you weren’t born any where close (time wise) to the prohibition era. @bellagiobob on the other hand probably frequented some speak easies back in the day. They say he’s old….👀😂

I’m not sayin I’m old, but back in the day when I went to school, they hadn’t started teachin history yet. ;)

I’ve followed boxing for 25 years and myself fought at a pretty high level of amateur in the sport when I was in my teens and early 20’s. I’ve always hated Jake Paul and these gimmicks but I have to give the guy some respect as he’s committed himself to becoming a boxer and while I don’t think he’ll ever be a world class fighter, I do think he’s putting himself in the ranks of a legitimate pro boxer. He’s come quite far in only a few years in terms of his technique and power, but if he wants to be recognized as legitimate he needs to drop the gimmicks and start fighting proper low to mid level pro fighters in his weight class. The money won’t be as good as these stupid YouTube fights but he’s made enough money, time to get in the deep end of the pool.

Looks like the gimmicks are paying the bills. Will he ever change? I doubt it.

Billie Jean King never suffered either from her ridiculous fame beating an old Male Ex Tennis player.

Perhaps unfortunately history in these things has no real validity. The fame will be produced and revered nonetheless, no matter how cheesy and contrived. Its the world we live in.

I hear Paul stands to make 40 mill from this. Say what you want about him but I'd love to be his financial advisor. This is an awfully nice retirement package if he walks away afterwards.

Ok. One of my kids showed up here from Canada for a few days. They are heading over to Jimmy Johns to grab this sandwhich. She’s low level celiac so the attraction of a sandwich with no bread. I love pickles too but this thing just smacks of some GMO Frankenstein food thing.

What say you? Something to desire or not…maybe I’m being too picky.

If you are able to eat bread, it is weird, as you would just have the pickle inside your sandwich, or on the side. If you can’t, I guess your options are limited, so it doesn’t look too bad, I would probably try it.

It’s Jimmy Johns. Franchise sub shop found across USA. I like Firehouse Subs too.

My order of preference for a sub sandwhich is:

Potbelly
Quiznos
Firehouse
Subway
JimmyJohns
Jersey Mikes (not a huge fan of the oil and vinegar dressing on them)

I'll say no, even as a Celiac. A sandwich without bread, it ain't no thing.

This is the kind of nonsense some places will put on the menu as GF offerings. Others will point you at the salad greens as GF but might be cross contaminated and all our salad dressings have gluten.

People have no idea how the food chain is so poor and contaminated with ingredients, processed ingredients or the 90% of cop outs that say. This product was made in a facility that handles every allergen known to mankind...;)

Ok. I had my daughter bring me one of these back home. I will definitely have another one.

Just the right balance of turkey, provolone, dill and a touch of mustard. Surprisingly tasty, held together like a sandwich, not messy or gooey/wet. Not heavy. Good protein shot. It’s not Michelin dining but was still tasty.

My cousin bought a Jersey Mikes franchise in AZ. I'll pass that feedback along and tell him to up his/their game! lol

Has anyone checked out Firehouse subs yet??

Looks like they are or have been opening up new franchises in Canada and YEG.

I enjoyed Blimpie Subs when they had one in Callingwood for a year or two.

I was thinking of songs from my younger days and recalled this favourite. It was sung by Norman "Hurricane" Smith, written by his wife Eileen Sylvia Smith, and released in 1972. It reached #3 on Canada's RPM Top Singles, #36 overall, and the US Cash Box Top 100[11].

With Saxophonist Frank Hardcastle, Smith sang the song in a 1930s Vaudeville style which he captured to a T.

Lyrics:

"As I have hoped for half a chance
To even ask if I could dance with you...You oo
Would you greet me or politely turn away?
Would there suddenly be sunshine on a cold and rainy day?

Oh, Babe,
What would you say?
For there are you sweet lollipops
Here am I with such a lot to say, Hey Hey

Just to walk with you along the Milky Way
To caress you through the night time
Bring you flowers everyday
Oh Babe,

What would you say?
Just so, Baby I know
I know I could be so in love with you

And I know that I could make you love me too
And if I could only hear you say you do oo oo oo oo
But anyway,
What would you say?

Just so, Baby I know
I know I could be so in love with you
And I know that I could make you love me too
And if I could only hear you say you do oo oo oo oo

But anyway,
What would you say?"

Norman Smith (22 February 1923 – 3 March 2008)[1] was an English musician, record producer and engineer. In the 1960s, he notably engineered all of the Beatles' EMI studio recordings up to the end of 1965 and produced three Pink Floyd albums including their first, The Piper at the Gates of Dawn (1967). He later had a successful recording career as Hurricane Smith, achieving a transatlantic hit single with "Oh Babe, What Would You Say" in 1972.

He was born in Edmonton! ...er Edmonton, Middlesex.
