Ladies and Gents, with approval from the Mods, I am posting a link to a raffle from Edmonton's SSAC for Oilers Tickets. Funds support our youth hockey team. Not tons of tickets so your chances are way better than the 50/50. LOL

i purchased EXACTLY 1 TICKET

When did HF remove the unmoderated page? It blows that there is not one place to discuss real life issues on this platform. Too many sensitive p***yes.
It was awhile back now. The problem was the Politics board wasn't unmoderated, so you had a bunch of people who volunteered to moderate hockey talk then forced to constantly deal with stuff in there.

And probably 80% of that board was posters who only posted on that board, so it wasn't really worth the headache.

Had to be 5+ years ago now, and I don't get it either.

When it ended it was "not doing this anymore!" re: mods coming in there. Maybe a solution there would be to just.....ignore it?

There's no way a company would ignore something like that. Especially with what was said in there.

I don't think it ever made sense to have a politics section here, personally.

I remember it was really bad during covid times, but I'm not sure how it could have been avoided. Everything in life, including sports and in particular hockey and the Oilers was affected by the plague and the Covid in and of itself was a political topic, so it infiltrated pretty much all talk.

People had to go out of their way to read the topics. Just close your laptop and the bad words go away. f***'s sake. Lool.

Just like you were so quick to quip earlier, this isn’t Reddit. Plenty of corners of the internet for the drecks of society to go on racist, homophobic tirades. Hfboards wasn’t the place for it.

Mmmmm......Smoky Manhattans!..............
I went to a speak-easy here in Phoenix last week and had a cocktail that came out of a treasure chest that was fuming away. OMG it was tasty. But you think I can remember the name of it. I’m going to have to go back and take a picture of the cocktail menu (and maybe have another one). The speak-easy is a fun place. It’s a real barbershop by day and at night you enter the barbershop, dial the phone on the wall with your “code” to get in and the shelving unit with all the barbershop talc and hair and beard product swings open and you enter a bar that holds about 150 people, has a full food service, live music. It’s the real deal.

Who wins the big fight? Tyson or Paul?
I know they are pumping it up and making a lot of $$, but Big Fight lol

This is a whatever boxer in Jake fighting a friggin Grandpa LMAO

If Paul loses, he lost to an almost 60 year old. If he wins, he beat up a Grandpa.

Can somebody explain to me what a 'Speak-Easy" bar is?
