What would it take to get the Paladin on the Calgary Flames? I'd love to form our own triplet line with Paladin-Backy-Froyo, that'll easily be the best 2-way forward line in the entire league, who will probably never have to spend a second in their own zone once Backlund wins the faceoff :sarcasm:. Either way everyone except for Gaudreau is open for a trade. However, if you trade for a Dman, you must add a Dman along with Palat.

In other words, if we trade Palat for the one thing we are likely to trade him for, we have to send more of that thing we don't have back?:help:

Guess you're sending us Monahan then.

Or you keep Palat because he's a left wing and we have ours set. Not sure why op tried to open this can of beans when it's a position we are strong in

Sometimes I wonder if OP is a Flames fan or just trying to troll or get attention. Let's see, trading for a LW to play with Backlund and Frolik. Hmmm, if only Flames had someone like Tkachuk to play LW on that line.

If Flames only had one the of the most dominant puck possession teams in hockey with Chucky on that line... hmmm.

From a Habs view point, what could be the price to acquire Palat?

Offensive RHD.

Probably the only one on the TB board who thinks Palat is expendable for the right price. I would like TB to extend him to a reasonable contract (Yzerman is on a roll with that) and if someone comes up with a good offer, I don't think Palat is "untouchable".

Preferably we'd want to move Killorn before anything though, as a reply to a previous post, Killorn can play LW and RW.

Isn't Tampa going to be in Cap trouble in the next couple years?

Whose going to be sacrificed?

Lol what have I said that comes across as trolling? If you're talking about ideas and concepts, everyone on here (Okay maybe not everyone) has some crazy idea and constant curiosity of hockey in general. Besides I've met many fans on here who are extreme homers or extreme pessimists lol.

Either way about Palat, I think he'll fit perfectly. I get we have Tkachuk, but again Palat is better than him in terms of purely defense and possession. I mean if mods want to lock this because it doesn't seem to go anywhere, so be it, but again I think Palat would really do well and fit with this team, especially if we can create our own triplet line.

Palat-Backlund-Frolik
Gaudreau-Bennett-Chiasson
Tkachuk-Monahan-Brouwer/Versteeg (All big bodies and can fit well).
Ferland-Stajan-Hathaway

That being said if Palat is to come here, it may require after the expansion, when/if Brouwer gets claimed.

If that's the case, what do you want from the Flames for Killorn? If you want Hamilton or Brodie for Killorn, Stralman absolutely must come back as well (I mean by then we can add another piece).

Making a proposal to trade for a LW to play with Backlund and Frolik, and making basically everyone available is stupid. Especially when Tkachuk has been a really nice fit on that line. Why would you do that?

I see Killorn the most, however for all you know Johnson could be as well especially since he's going to command a lot of money, and he has a lot of value. Johnson would be great for us as well, and he probably grew up a Flames fan because Calgary is closest to Spokane (Maybe Vancouver is, I'm not sure), but in terms of culture Calgary and Spokane are far more similar than Vancouver and Spokane. But we won't really need Johnson with our center depth. Johnson is a RH shot, so if we somehow trade a center for a great top 4 D, we can probably entertain getting Johnson. Again too many speculations lol.

I'm making everyone available because Tampa has a lot of pieces that interest me, and obviously certain players demand more than others lol. For Tampa only, everyone but Gaudreau is available. For other teams, that's a completely other story.

To ultimately get flames fans mocked for saying they don't want players/they prefer their own players.

Wait, no, that's just every single proposal that includes the flames lately

You need to make a lineup that works, not just pile up players with no regards to their position.

I don't think OP understands positions. Or needs.

Flames need a top six right winger and a top four defenseman with some bite however the looming expansion draft makes the latter all but impossible for the time being. Left wing is not something the Flames are at all interested in, given the above average level of depth they have there. Gaudreau-Tkachuk-Versteeg-Ferland-Bouma is more than good enough.
