The reality is that this thread was an overreaction from the day it was started. In any event, it will be long forgotten a couple of months from now when the Leafs are doing bigger and better things.

I believe we were 4-5-1 when the thread was made so it wasn't an "overreaction", it was just reflecting the current state of affairs at that moment.

99.9999% of everything posted so far this season will be forgotten a couple of months from now regardless of whether the Leafs are playing hockey or golf at that time.

You asked where they got the 8-1-1 stuff from and that it was nonsense. I was the one who posted that stat. At no point did I state on March 24th.
So maybe you should clarify which post was incorrect?

If I asked, it was a rhetorical question. Again, this is what I was responding to:

We have threads made about how we're skidding into the playoffs when they have gone 8-1-1 in there last 10 games.

Complaining about threads made when we're 8-1-1 in the last 10 games is what's incorrect because we weren't 8-1-1 when the thread was made, we were I believe 4-5-1 at that time, that's all there is to it.

Which poster said that? If you're thinking of the OP, I'm pretty sure he never said it was an overreaction, he only said something about regretting making the thread but that's probably because of some of the idiotic responses it generated such as this one:

All we've known as fans of this team is misery and suffering.

At some point, the script feels very familiar.

The team have earned that skepticism. None of it is unfair. They have a great opportunity to change the narrative this post-season. But there's many, including me, who don't think we are contenders.

This deep into the Shana-plan / core 4 era, they should be contenders.

I made this post during a skid. I stand by what I said in my final thought. I rather have low expectations and be pleasantly surprised, than high expectations and be disappointed. So far they are exceeding my expectations. They are blocking shots, holding leads, and getting it done in OT. I hope it continues in the second round.

If people wish to label me a bandwagon jumper, fair weather, “fan” so be it. I’ve enjoyed this forum for over a decade and enjoy the debates I’ve had on it. Some of my takes are good, some aren’t. For those trying to use it as a platform to debase fellow fans, grow up. I fear for those with the sarcastic arrogance on a message bored, life must be tough.

I’m with you, my friend. I’m a recent convert myself. You’ll find my rants scattered all over this board after our usual early playoff exits. But something feels different this time. A new GM, a new coach, a system built for playoff success. Matthews and Marner are finally playing the right way. We’ve got the best defense we’ve seen in years and a rock-solid goaltender to back it all up.

Round 2 will be the big test, but this is the first time I think we have a good chance of getting to the Conference final and maybe even beyond.

Its all good, my man. But expect to get some quips headed your way when what you're seeing changes course really quickly. At the end of the day, I think everyone will gladly eat their words when the team suddenly surges and propels us into the next round. I mean, I'd hope so.
