We start this week off on the second day of the week, Monday, against the 7-8-2 Flyers. This game will almost certainly be a slog with Trots behind the bench. Hopefully our returning players continue to kick off the rust and build some much needed chemistry.

On Thursday, we get a chance at revenge against the Caps as Ovi continues his marsh to the record. I hope we actually show up to this game and play like it matters.

Saturday we play the defending Stanley cup champions. This team is fantastic and built well rounded pretty much everywhere. This will be a real challenge and we need MacK, Makar and Mikko to step up here. Also note this game does start extra early for some reason. Not sure why.

Goaltending is still the big issue, hopefully Annunen can bounce back on Monday. Sounds like George will still be out Monday, but Bednar did mention he'll be on the trip. Miners did okay in his relief effort, but overall this situation looks grim as always.

I freaking loved seeing Landeskog's gear sitting right next to MacK's. I don't care what kind of condition he's in, I just want to see him on the ice again. I want that smile.

As for Bednar's presser, I liked that he's just calling last night a stinker. Keep it in mind in case any trends develop from it, but for a single game Jared was right, last night was just a bad night. It's going to happen over an 82 game season. I was glad to hear them talking about having a very good practice today though. Bedsy mentioned intensity, attention to detail, pace...all the things that were missing from the game last night.

I was a bit surprised by his praise for CHD. He was calling him a calming influence in the locker-room and a solid stay at home precense. Praised him for blocking shots and PKing. Guess I'm going to have to start looking for it, because those positives haven't really been jumping out at me. He's clearly better than Kylington, but I'd like to see Ludvig get a chance to work in a bit more. He's made some stupid ass mistakes, but every defender does when first coming to the Avs. It takes time to learn the system.
