Your defence scares the living daylights out of me, both in a good and a bad way. That would be some reeeeallyyy high event hockey.

I like it overall. My adjustments would be:
- Subban in for Letang/Chabot
- Mack in for.... hmm tough, maybe Point? He should probably be there, but Team Canada usually gives preference to vets.
- Also would probably have Hall in over Stone/Skinner. He did win the MVP last year and is still putting up good numbers.

There are so many other forward options like Stamkos/Monahan/Stone that could easily make the team but will end up getting snubbed.

Gaudreau – Matthews – Wheeler
Tkachuk – Eichel – Kane
Kreider – Larkin – Kessel
Parise – Pavelski – Atkinson
Tuch, Hayes

McDonagh – Jones
Suter – Carlson
Slavin – Byfuglien
Werenski, Trouba

Gibson
Hellebuyck
Bishop

Kreider sticks out, but he'd be such a perfect 3rd wheel for that Larkin – Kessel speed line. That would be the most skilled Team USA roster maybe ever.

EDIT: Trochek slipped my mind, but they still might want Hayes there for defensive value. It is Team USA.

You would leave out Boeser who is scoring at a 40 goal per year clip?

In a short tournament like the olympics you need as many game breakers as possible. This isnt a 7 game series where you need grinders like Kreider or Tuch to break down the other team.

Jesus, we're loaded.

Not much I would change here except Boeser in for Tuch.

I really want to work Yandle in somehow, but spots are tight on LD.

Kreider and Tuch aren't there to break down the defense. They're there to open space with their speed and use their size to get to the front of the net.

Team Canada is too good defensively for Team USA to bring pure skill. They would have to have the personnel to score dirty goals. That might be the only type of opportunity available.

Boeser was an omission, though. That's fair. Just his shooting from distance on the PP would be beneficial.

USA is pretty stacked, when I look at many of the top players at least half of them are American these days.

The omissions tell you far USA has come.

Yandle, Trocheck, Stepan, Oshie, Shattenkirk, Gostisbehere, E. Johnson, T. Johnson, Okposo, Galcehnyuk, Sheary, Fowler.

Solid, solid group of players that I would have a real hard time finding a spot for.

We're getting pretty close to the US having a watchable B team. (Still not as good as Canada whose B team is an A team)

Pretty sure USA tried that the last Olympic with nhlers with guys like Brown, Callahan, etc. and it went terribly. I’d rather we go all skill. We finally have the talent to match Canada decently well at forward.

Yeah but that's Brown and Callahan.

Kreider and Tuch know what a puck is.
