Very difficult to create chances vs the combination of Canadian defensemen and an impetuous back check from the energized forwards.

USA has had chances to score, just barely missed each one.

When you have NHL 3rd liners like Callahan and Brown on your team you won't compete with Canada.

Think if anything there is a bit of a lack of top end centers. You don't want guys like Kessel and JVR to RUN a PP at this level.

They were better players then and Latvia was at 1-1 for most of last game, did they compete?

No. Latvia got blown out. There's a big gap between having the better of the play and outshooting your opponent by 40 or whatever shots it was vs Latvia. The US isn't winning, but they're certainly competing.

They have several D with good shots but never shoot.

Stop trying to make great plays. Put the puck on net.

So frustrating to watch.

Okposo too. For Brown and Callahan.

McD on the pp. Callahan too, since he'll go to the net and stay there.

Haven't noticed The Thrill much aside from that chance right off the bat

That's USA's biggest weakness. Backes, Stastny, Pavelski and Kesler are all very good players, but USA's center depth has 0 superstars, unlike Canada, Russsia, and Sweden. Maybe Galchenyuk and Eichel in the future.

Really they are right in it.

But they've missed on several "gotta bury it to win" chances. Not bad misses. But you need to get 1+ of them to beat Canada.

The effort from Nash is pissing me off big time as well. Thanks buddy.

the passivity on their pps have killed them. they must be deliberate and start blasting pucks from every where like they did to open the 1st period.
