I know they're young, but I'd heavily consider Boeser/Keller for that final roster spot. But if age is the issue I'm calling on Dustin Brown. What a great bottom 6 guy he'd be.

Team Canada lineup

Forwards:
Marchand - Crosby - Bergeron
Benn - McDavid - Seguin
Tavares - Getzlaf - Stamkos
O'Reilly - Toews - Stone
Scheifele

On the bubble: Duchene, Hall, Giroux, Schwartz, Couture, MacKinnon (list could go on)

Defensemen:
Vlasic - Doughty
Keith - Weber
Giordano - Pietrangelo
Subban

On the bubble: Rielly, Brodie, Letang, Ekblad, Parayko

Goaltenders:

I will make my version of the roster in January, when the team would have been announced had things gone well. I'll probably also take a guess at what Hockey Canada would have done as well. For me Canada already has the four centre spots (Crosby, McDavid, Scheifele, Tavares) finished and several LW (Benn, Marchand) and RW (Stamkos, Bergeron, Seguin) complete as well. At LW looking at Hall, O'Reilly, Schwartz and maybe Couture. At RW looking at MacKinnon, Stone, Toews, maybe Giroux. Defence is built around Doughty, Pietrangelo and Vlasic. I would probably take Subban and after that it gets tricky.

I try Czech Republic:

Voráček - Krejčí - Pastrňák
Hertl - Hanzal - Vrbata
Palát - Plekanec - Kaše
Sobotka - Faksa - Frolík
Vrána, Jaškin

Jeřábek - Gudas
Kempný - Polák
Jordán - Rutta
Nakládal - Šustr

Neuvirth
Mrázek
Furch

You would have Toews at RW when he's a LHS?

I don't even think goaltender is a debate.

Defense has a lot of options. I think because the Avs were so bad last year people aren't paying attention to how good Erik Johnson has been playing this year. Kinda feel like the top 5 above him are basically locks on almost everybody's roster. Wil Butcher is the powerplay specialist, it came down to him and Gostisbehere and if someone liked Gostisbehere more I can't fault them.

Forward wise probably the most skilled USA team since the 1990s golden generation. I can't remember the last time we could field two lines of point per game players. Plus Trochek, Saad and Larkin would form one of the better penalty killing units out there. Saad is having a down year offensively but I think his track record is enough to not worry.

I pretty much agree with all of this. I’ll do some forward lines for you....

Marchand - Crosby - Bergeron (proven chemistry)
Benn - Tavares - Seguin (veteran line and solid)
Hall - McDavid - MacKinnon (speed, speed and more speed would be crazy)
ROR - Schiefele - Stone ( defensive unit with the ability to score)
Toews - leadership tag along and would slide in nicely anywhere

That is almost exactly what I was thinking actually. Stamkos makes it difficult though. At the very least that is how I would organize those players. Also, the O'Reilly - Scheifele - Stone line actually existed at the 2016 IIHF World Championship and was very good in a shutdown role.

your list sucks...lol

Wait, so you list a bunch of players like Monahan and Couturier (who, while good players, would probably be on the outside looking in when it comes to Team Canada's forward group) that the OP didn't name to his/her roster, and call his/her roster "stupid"? Here's a tip - you might want to revisit your online discussion style.

Butcher? interesting choice.

I wonder if Eichel playing with better players boosts his play to worthy of number 2 centre on what would be a very good team. He is playing like a dog this year, bad team I know but that usually does not crumble guys that come with such a heavy rep and supposed all world skills, even when the team sucks those guys usually produce and are not the problem. In Buffalo he is definately part of the problem when you watch him out there.

I've watched that guy in the WJC, WHC, World cup and about 15 Buffalo games so far in his NHL career and have never been blown away, starting to think he is about the most overrated player on these boards. He does have talent but seems real lazy and a bit of an entitled guy with bad mental makeup.
