Considering that DS is sending young prospects to RI after short stints on the Club, it’s good to see he taking longer to evaluate Oliver’s role on the team. His goal Saturday and play against Tampa should buy him a longer period to win a job.

I have to keep reminding myself he’s just 24 years old and, in theory, is still on the upswing. I always think of waiver pickups as “grizzled veterans” for whatever reason.

I’ve been less impressed with his play than many others judging from reading the board. Not sure where he slots into an NHL lineup long term. Either way, I do agree with Sweeney and others that he’s worth a longer look than a run of the mill prospect who hasn’t proven himself (at least somewhat) at the NHL level.

He’s working hard and that’s all any fan or coach can ask.

The team just lost 6 in a row and it was all Swayman against Panthers. Don’t think anyone here would lose any sleep Losing him on waivers to bring up 1 or 3 of Lysell, Pots, Merk, or Letteri (speed and leading points PBruins)
