He’s exceeded my expectations a lot. Moves the puck well, good shot, good in his own zone, more physical than I expected. He also almost always makes good decisions, very few brain farts. He’s not elite at anything, but he’s above average at almost everything. Quality 2nd pairing dman, really good value at $3.5 mil AAV, plays more like a $5-6 mil dman.

1. If you have something nice to say about him, then you're welcome to be here.

2. If you want to say something bad about him, then you're welcome to be here.

Option 2 will be challenging for me though. ;)

He's been a big surprise. He does a lot for this team. I like his style. I like that he's got jam. He's a +7 which is 3rd on the Leafs. He's also contributing with points.

My Dude...
I was just thinking this morning how good he's been. His intentionally missed slap shot on the PP on McMann's goal was great. He was a #1 Dman in this league and a top 6 pick in the draft and his all around skills are evident.

He had 6 consecutive seasons of 14 or more goals, and 2 with more than 20.

I'd like to see him more on the PP.

Why is he not playing ahead of Rielly on the first power play? I've had enough of Rielly's passing to the perimeter when he's directly in line with the front of the net for a shot. Rielly telegraphs any cross ice pass and I think has limited offensive IQ. OEL on the McMann goal showed that we have to shoot more. It also gives room for Nylander or Matthews for a clearer shot from the perimeter.

I like what he has done. It’s just an awkward fit now that McCabe Tanev is playing great.

Your top 4 should be
Rielly. Tanev
OEL. McCabe but the other pair is too good.

I think we may need a partner for Reilly. I don’t get the Myers thing at all.
They tried Timmins with Rielly first and that was a worse combination than Myers is so it is what it is atm.

I didn't have any doubt this was a shrewd signing The best thing is if we suck in the last year of his contract he has value.

I'm guessing he'll be relied on a little more with McCabe out.

He’s the same as he’s been for years so nobody should be surprised. He took all the heat in Van for the acquisition cost Benning offered up but, as with much of the seemingly mandatory whipping boy nonsense here, it was invalid.
