Ole Chant

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.
    • Our 2025 light and dark themes were lost, so we are rebuilding them. Light theme is currently available, but work in progress

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

In the meantime, feel free to join our Discord Server
Family of 4 you lay down a grand for tickets, a beverage and a dog x4, and parking ? You want to sing ole ole ? Knock yourself out. Being superstitions I suggest in the last minute, but 5 if it's 2 goals plus if you must.

I'd love to import chants like Europeans and South Americans are doing during Football matches

I hate it ; it sounds like a chant you would hear in a soccer stadium in south America.
But I would realy enjoy having custom made insult songs for every other team .

It's fun if we're good.

If we're good it adds an extra layer of toxicity to our club which I love. Imagine a good Habs team that scores goals, dominates possession, plays with sandpaper and throws bone crushing hits all night long with OLE OLE in the background. So much troll

As some others explained, I feel it is a way to express satisfaction about the show on the ice.
As someone who attends 7-8 games a season, I will cheers good plays, I'll boo when I'm unsatisfied, but when it's great showing by the team leading by a few goals (usually 3+), I usually like to start the chant and people do like to follow up when it happens.
It's fun, as a fanbase, to have a little something unique, that we can use to express satisfaction about the performance "on-site", and easy enough so the entire fanbase can participate in.

I mean, it is not mandatory to have one, or it could be something else, but man it feels more enjoyable that way...
Granted, lately, I don't sing it as often... 😣

I enjoy it, but I’ve also always been a tad perplexed it became a thing as it’s just so engrained in Spanish culture. Are there no Québecois words or slang to chant?

Lame and embarrassing but so what? the team has been lame and embarrassing since before the turn of the century. Not nearly as terrible as TAKE ME HOME WEST VIRGINAI, the automatic gag reflex kicks in on that. lol
